Land of Hope & Glory? - UK Politics and other stuff

Didn’t expect there to be anyone so close to me on here! I’m originally from Hunts Cross but now live in Widnes and work in Warrington.

Hearing an alarming amount of support for Boris locally. Nobody can ever explain what they like about Tory policies or what they hate about Corbyn but Boris is definitely popular. I live in a safe Labour seat but my office is full of Brexiteers and it’s going to be a hard day in work next Friday (Warrington South is definitely going Tory this time round I’m afraid)

Sally Ann Hart again

Hastings and Rye (Amber Rudds old seat) - Conservative majority 346

Oddschecker dampened my hopes somewhat.

I grew up in Heywood (near Rochdale), always remember some girl at school I took ages to ask out told me she had a boyfriend from Widnes. Widnes!

Yeah, Rashid won that seat of a Tory in 2017 and my daughter’s politics class were going nuts because they’d all been out hammering doors for him.

That article Smacc linked above is very good though, it feels different this time and people are openly saying they’re voting for Boris because they can’t stand Corbyn and yet when pressed they can never explain why. And don’t get me started on the Brexit support round here, it’s a fucking mystery to me too. Every morning I drive past terraced council houses with GET BREXIT DONE signs in the windows and shake my head.

BBC be careful about who you get into bed with (especially a man known for abandoning his bedmates). Such justice if they end up helping elect the man who ends up destroying them.
