Pure unadulterated folly.

If it’s a bluff, it’s a very bad bluff because the EU can call it especially now the US have said on yer bike Britain you slags.

If it’s not a bluff it’s a fucking disaster for Ireland and the UK.

It’s not just Irish America, it’s potentially the next US administration, who are guarantors of the GF Agreement.

Meanwhile the EU are saying without an agreement they may be unable to import any UK food produce.

And that’s what we learned today as the EU decided to tell us, there far more than that involved as the EU also said “many parts have not been decided yet, so it looks like even IF this part is sorted out, there’s no real time for a deal”

Hence why I predicted an extension, if DC comes to his sences that this WA change is just not a viable move. Unfortunately he’s a nutcase with no sences.

Well I mean if DC wanted a deal they’d be a lot closer to one than they are, and if he wanted no deal (being re-branded as an “Australian relationship”) while blaming the EU we’d be in the situation we find ourselves in now.

So that’s what I think the obvious plan is: no deal unless the EU cave at the last minute and grant tariff free access for goods and services only (which understandably they won’t because it would totally undermine their internal market and give the UK a massive competitive advantage).

This tweet below is false imo, breaking this WA & then devolving our devolution powers will make it 10x harder for us to get a referendum. That’s just a fact.

My reasoning for BJ was that he wouldn’t allow DC to pin the blame of the breakup of the UK and so would get an extension.

Now that this route is being taken I do believe I was wrong & will admit so when we leave without a deal, sadly.

I guess BJ is just a BJ giver.

It’s all opinions, and yours might turn out to be right.

Let’s hope he does, but it isn’t looking good…

My not that confident read is that it’s brinkmanship on both sides, at least to some extent. What the EU isn’t doing currently is allowing the UK to claim wins even if nothing has changed in reality.

I suspect it’ll be like the WA in the end, where it was something that could have been agreed literally years before except that the UK ruled it out, yet somehow everyone pretended that Boris had won concessions to get it, rather than just going back on previous policy.
