Yep, and they donât do a good enough job talking to their fellow workers, and are already at a big disadvantage in trying to do so due to Dem messaging (and policy to a lesser extent than messaging)
Also, I have learned that ânon whiteâ is kind of a problematic term
I was saying it in a funny way, but immigration is the number one issue for Trump voters. Itâs 3 of the 20 points in the Republican Party platform. They wave signs saying âMass Deportation Nowâ. Itâs the issue this election and Harris would get crushed if she werenât sending the Army to the border herself. People suck.
excuse me. That game is called cornhole, i donât care if you donât want to print thatâŚthatâs the name of that game. Also, the âmodernâ version originated in Cincinnati.
Verrett and Chavez Rodriguez pointed to Harrisâ long track record with unions as a motivating factor among these workers. That includes the time she said she worked at McDonaldâs when she was a student, her backing of an initiative targeting wage theft and illegal labor practices as California attorney general, and her introduction of legislation to protect workers against the harms of working in extreme heat as a U.S. senator.
During her first run for president, Harris walked a picket line in 2019 with workers from General Motors outside of Reno, Nevada. That same year in Las Vegas, she marched with McDonaldâs employees who were on strike asking for more pay.
The last Democratic president, Obama, never appeared on a picket line, though as a candidate he said he was willing to.
âWe stand at a crossroads in this country. We can put a billionaire back in office who stands against everything our union stands for, or we can elect Kamala Harris who will stand shoulder to shoulder with us in our war on corporate greed. This campaign is bringing together people from all walks of life, building a movement that can defeat Donald Trump at the ballot box. For our one million active and retired members, the choice is clear: We will elect Kamala Harris to be our next President this November.â
The notion that Obama was much more pro-union in his campaign than Harris, whoâs actually been out walking picket lines, unlike Obama ever did, and who gave union leaders primetime speaking spots at the DNC, unlike Obama ever did, is just plain imaginary.
I hope Pete can come somewhere close to Crenshawâs performance on Maherâs show a few weeks ago.
This was during the Overtime thing Bill does (Crenshaw was even better at this during the first part of the episode) and aired pre Harris-orange debate. His blather at about 10:40 and 14:10 are pretty effective at sounding substantive which is all Vance needs to do.
In Canada youâre not allowed to shoot at a home intruder unless they are a threat to you. Makes sense, if someone is running away you donât get the right to murder them based on location.
Also, probably very difficult to unlock your guns and your ammunition which have to be stored separately in time to confront them. Also, no one breaks into homes they just steal cars in this country.
