Iâm talking about normies liking progressive causes, even if they get sour-faced when they talk about actual progressives like AOC.
Obama was pretty avuncular himself. But also, post-election, it seemed a lot easier to terrify a lot of normies/swing voters that Obama was shoving his throbbing socialist Obamacare agenda down their throats than if he had been Biden. âBlack man wants to give all the perks to other black peopleâ is a deep-seated subconscious fear that Rs are really good at triggering in people who arenât savvy to their bad faith BS.
There was some social scientist who basically embedded with a bunch of rural Wisconsinites before and after the 2016 election. She said many of them at least talked like they were giving Obama a real chance, and some even voted for him, but once the ACA and Republican scorched earth campaign kicked in, they all got scared of the âradical socialistâ rhetoric and turned on him pretty hard. This even though Obamacare was his primary campaign pledge.
So anyway, that stuff is what Iâm basing this theory on, that race is an easy subconscious lever for Rs to pull. Doesnât necessarily have to be race, I think it would also work if the candidate was a white soy boy that they could portray in crying socialist liberal memes. But white + old, IE - Biden, makes it harder imo, much to Rsâ chagrin. But they got lucky that he declined so much mentally in 4 years (but actually hopefully unlucky as it turned out).

And I think seeing a plan thatâs out there talking about it with folks, knowing that heâs not going to do anything, you know, he talks about this wall, I always say, let me know how high it is. If itâs 25 feet, then Iâll invest in the 30 foot ladder factory. Thatâs not how you stop this.

Seems to me that most people who donât like AOC donât like the actual progressive causes she espouses, along with some people on the left who are mad at her for giving money to the DNC or voting to crush the rail worker strike or something like that. And that essentially none of those people would like a white man who did everything the same.
There is definitely a racist/misogynist group of people who like some of the economic causes, but not the whole package, and they wouldnât like AOC no matter what she looked like.

Walzâs pro-LGBTQ+ record goes back much further than his time as governor. In 1999, he sponsored the first gay-straight alliance at his high school while working as a teacher. In Congress, he co-sponsored the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act and voted to repeal Donât Ask, Donât Tell.
I like this guy more and more the more I do even a little digging. I can see the attack ads already and theyâre just going to hammer home the stuff that cements Walz as a powerful ally.

thatâs BEEN the attack, they already wrote the script about 10 years ago and they just keep running the same ads just changing the names. I think people are starting to tune it out because they know that itâs impossible for literally everyone to be the MOST RADICAL EVER and this walz guy looks like a totally normal midwest dad (even though he is kinda librul). Heâs a footbaw coach!
I would wager that none of the people Iâm talking about could tell you a single one of AOCâs causes. They just know sheâs an avatar of a socialist lefty to them.
But if you take half those causes and present them in a neutral manner, some of those people would respond a lot more positively. Thatâs all Iâm saying. Itâs far easier for Rs to turn people who look the part (in the minds of their intended targets) into avatars of dangerous lefty socialism.
Itâs the same way Boomer white dudes hate Elizabeth Warren. But if you present a lot of her causes in a neutral manner they might nod along.
