Joe Rogan

wow, looks like Drake, Taylor Swift, Lil Nas X, Ed Sheeran, Bieber, and Rihanna are pulling out too. Huge!

JUST OUT HERE ASKING QUESTIONS, GUYS

In his video, Rogan said that those guests are ā€œhighly credentialed, very intelligent, very accomplished people, and they have an opinion that is different from the mainstream narrative. I wanted to hear what their opinion is.ā€ He also disputed the episodes being labeled ā€œmisinformation,ā€ saying that many of their opinions are shared by mainstream listeners.

ā€œā€™Iā€™m not a doctor. Iā€™m not a scientist. Iā€™m just a person who sits down and talks to people and has conversations with them,ā€ he said. ā€œDo I get things wrong? Absolutely. I get things wrong, but I try to correct them whenever I get something wrong. Iā€™m interested in finding out what the truth is, and Iā€™m interested in having interesting conversations with people that have differing opinions. Iā€™m not interested in only talking to people that have one perspective.ā€

This is only valid if he interviews people with mainstream views as well. But he doesnā€™t very often (as far as I can tell), the only one I can remember is when he had I think it was Sanjay Gupta on and basically attacked him for his views?

ā€œRogan Promises to Bring Balance to the Forceā€ is how I read that

Also I knew when we sat back and let them shut down Napster we would rue the day. The rueing is upon us!!

This episode takes a real deep dive look into the ā€œI try to correct them whenever I get something wrongā€ bullshit claim Rogan is trying to peddle here. The boys at Knowledge Fight examine Alex Jonesā€™ last appearance on JRE, and you can see just how little pushback he actually gives on glaring misinformation.

Rogan doesnā€™t push back on any guest, he mostly just talks to them and hears their perspective. The idea that heā€™s going to aggressively go after his friend Alex Jones is just dumb on its face. Of course heā€™s not.

Not only because he doesnā€™t want to but because is is literally too ignorant in the sense that he absolutely doesnā€™t know true from false.

Then he is outright lying in that statement he made

He might think he does that by pushing back against Rhonda Patrick and Sanjay Gupta while letting Alex Jones and Eddie Bravo talk without resistance though.

Given the broad array of experts he has on his show, that would be true for literally anyone.

Does he have a broad array of experts or a couple of experts (specifically for the purpose of undermining their correct ideas) and a shit load of charlatans (specifically for the purpose of amplifying their bullshit that coincidentally dovetails with Joe Roganā€™s preferred view of reality)?

Heā€™s just questioning the mainstream narrative about crab salts, bro.

Sounds like Big Crab Salt got to you too.

His friend Alex Jones denies that 26 children were shot to death at Sandy Hook. Just please stop to think about that. He gives this guy access to yet more tens of millions listeners on a semi regular basis. There is something really really really really fucked up about that.

I know I pimp Knowledge Fight a lot, but this episode is FASCINATING. It goes over the deposition in the Alex Jones case after he was found guilty by default, and the lack of knowledge or any concept of how the legal system works just blows my mind.

Speaking of, if I were to make a Knowledge Fight-esque podcast digging deep into Joe Rogan instead of Alex Jones, which of these would be the best name for it?

Edit: Fuck, nevermind, I guess this is a thing already, although I think all three of my names are better than this one

My understanding is that Rogan, behind the scenes, told Jones not to mention the most inflammatory stuff. Which, to my mind, lets me know that Rogan at least knows that there are lines that shouldnā€™t be crossed when it comes making money interviewing people, and not just a helpless schlub that just invites anyone who sends him an email.

In any case, I think a little smack on the hand is good. I donā€™t think he should get fully ostracized, if only because he does have a large audience, so liberals should make attempts to get on his show, a lot. Also because heā€™s not a super great interviewer liberals can get a lot more out than they could, say, on Fox News, where a canny conservative interviewer will shut them down.
