Jeopardy! Thread (No spoilers until after the show EST)

Yeah and there’s even more than this. I speed consumed a history of Blossom statements on the record last night to arrive at certified crayzo. She seems to load pretty heavily onto ideas that are rooted in the naturalistic fallacy in the same way that, say, the Whole Foods libertarian does. I’d refrain from judging someone too much for being into AP or home schooling, but in my experience it’s never just that and eventually you learn they’re taking colloidal silver or stocking ammunition to fight the Obama tanks.

And here I thought infant mortality reduction was a good goal for countries to have.

Gonna be real. I don’t really care too much if she becomes host. Lots of people believe lots of stupid shit. Joe Rogan makes a living off of it. So, whatever.

Looks like the answer was 11 days. Longer than I thought, tbh.

WELCOME TO THE MIKE RICHARDS ERA

On hosting ability alone, Richards seems like a perfectly cromulent host.

Matt had a bit of a scare on Tues, but he seems to be basically picking up where he left off. I’m not sure if his overall strat is better or worse than James’, but it seems like one early DD miss is all it will take get a sweat.

Watching this week Richards hasn’t been that bad…

Yeah the crazy thing is I think Richards power move of making himself the host would have worked for every single game show…except Jeopardy. But Jeopardy is a separate beast.

You might need to show your work on this.

In this day and age, once his history of harassment comes out, he is done, no matter what game show. Maybe if it’s something on a cable channel that no one watches, he might slip by. But for any notable one, it plays out exactly the same way: it is announced that he wins the job, his past comes to light, and then he’s fired.

Do I really have to show my work on rich white guys being given a longer leash?

That being said, good riddance to Mike Richards

I think you do for things that happen circa summer 2021.

Let’s say instead of Trebek going down it’s Pat Sajak and Richards becomes the host of Wheel of Fortune. Why would we expect the events to unfold any differently?

Jeopardy! is different in that there’s a sizeable community that’s very protective of the show, almost romanticizing it. It’s the reason many books have been written about Jeopardy! but none about Wheel. There’s no hardcore Wheel fanbase that would get online and cry foul in the same way, and certainly no Claire McNear getting to the bottom of a potential Wheel scandal.

And if the host IS NOT harassing women on Family Feud, he gets fired.
