Stanford crossed my mind but Utah settled me at BY. Like how the first answer was B Young trying to avoid spelling error.
LOLOLOLOL. That Final Jeopardy was a GOAT answer/question. I wish they did that more often. Serves the smug that think they know the answer without actually knowing the answer right.
What was the question?
One of the luminaries who drove in the âGolden Spikeâ in Utah in 1869 was this man who later founded a university

Question is: One of the luminaries who drove in the âGolden Spikeâ in Utah in 1869 was this man who later founded a university.
Everyone picks Brigham Young. The answer was Leland Stanford.
It certainly screams Brigham Young. It also screams too easy (especially since they give you Utah in the question). Iâd have gone with Young too, but not felt great about it.
The best part was a guy wrote B Young because he couldnât spell Brigham. Even if he was right, Jeopardy would have dinged him for that.
I mean sometimes Final Jeopardy is easy if you piece together the hints. But everything about how they worded it suggested BYU.
Would have been at least sporting if they had dropped prestigious before university. I donât say that as a slight against BYU
pretty sure without looking it up that Young wasnât a railroad tycoon so him driving the golden spike seems unlikely
wat? last name is enough
I assumed it would be a train magnate, so I guessed Vanderbilt.
This is true, but unless itâs Celebrity Jeopardy, theyâre never giving you Utah in the clue for Brigham Young on a final Jeopardy. Thatâs just too much of a hint.
Maybe not a ârailrood tycoonâ per se, but he was into railroads:
Also thereâs this:
And while he may not have been tycoon-level rich, he was doing pretty well:
Of course, being the wealthiest man in Utah wasnât that impressive. He had the equivalent of only about 15 million today.
All of above from his wikipedia article.
Surely, none of them knew all of these things, but if one did, itâs pretty hard not to put Young.
This could be interesting.
Interesting in a âHow quickly can we make the audience change the channel?â Type of way?
Oh Christ. The only guy who could make this play boring
I guess if seniors want to get to sleep extra early, Buck might be a good host. Itâd be another example of good olâ boys failing up in life at the top.
This is a really unfunny joke, right?
Right?
After Dr. Oz, is this really that surprising?
FFS, who is next, Mitch McConnell?
Eh, I think Joe Buck will probably be pretty good.
