Just an absolutely extraordinary run of the worst luck imaginable.

The suicide attempt where he said the dirty cop tried to kill him…

I dunno, this is very consistent with the jail simply being incompetent as fuck.

Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence…

Not if they’re incompetent schleps who fuck this up all the time.

Sure, in a vacuum it’s not proof. How thin can omnishambolic incompetence be stretched before it breaks, though?

At some of the places I’ve worked, quite thin.

In a US prison? Very far.

Not sure how amenable to ‘incompetence’ people would be if it was bodycam footage missing after an “officer-involved shooting”, but less so than with this, I’m pretty sure.

Urkel teamed up with the three stooges to run this prison?

I mean, if you were trying to cover up a murder here it seems like you’d want to release footage of his first suicide attempt and not delete it?

ACCURATE USE OF RHETORICAL TERM OF ART ALERT You’re begging the question.

OK, so what’s your alternative theory of what happened? Because if it’s “a hitman tried to murder him once and fucked up and came back a second time to do the murdering,” then I’m going to ask how thin the omnishambolic incompetence of hitmen can be stretched.

A prisoner trying and failing to choke his cellmate seems a lot more likely than the prison not only failing to monitor its most high profile inmate, but also conveniently deleting the footage from two separate suicide attempts separated by several weeks. And also failing to preserve the crime scene, and submitting an uncut noose as evidence after stating they had to cut Epstein down.

One failed hit in a jail doesn’t strike me as that implausible. I imagine it’s harder to murder someone than to copy a video file. The inconsistency of accounts of Epstein’s manner, mood and statements before and after the first incident, two separate instances of missing surveillance footage, falsified timesheets, autopsy results atypical of suicide by hanging (though obv. not impossible), these all add up, even if each on its own is nothing in particular. And non-incompetence-based explanations are all still entirely compatible with mere facilitated suicide; you’re drifting back to “Pizzagate or nothing” thinking here.

eyewitness testimony rests at the apex on a hierarchy of uselessness

lol mood

It would be nice to think you’d be taking that attitude if everyone was saying Epstein was moping around and reading Camus and shit. You wouldn’t be, though.

this opinion isn’t based on anecdotal noise, but rather a lifetime of experience

Jailhouse hit-squad lol

not enough lols

I’m lazy, but pretend I rainbow-quoted this.

ETA Hahaha, murdered in jail. Like that’s ever happened. Pff.
