what is being done to this country is no laughing matter is one of those freudian slips

Obviously they’re all full of shit again on the child thing. It’s one of those you start with a valid point that isn’t what the person was actually getting at and then go full projection ( since when has a child ever been off limits to the republican party?) and gee dems evil again gotta vote Trump.

Big YIKES guys. wegottem.gif?

Someday we are going to get the whole backstory on Melania. My money is on escort (the hooker kind).

Yeah it is crazy how they will jump on anything to distract from reality. Weeks of public hearings and not a single point defending trump has been offered or made.

Nothing the professor said attacked, made fun or belittled any kids.

The fact that this is the single item they are latching to after today shows what little ground they have to stand on. They are just trying to divert in whatever way possible. Impeachment is starting to look like a mortal lock. The only hope we have is if once Trump is impeached suddenly public perception turns on him enough to flip the senate. The GOP senators will do whatever it takes to keep their job, and if convicting Trump increases their odds of keeping their job, they will do it. If it doesn’t, they won’t - simple as that. They do not act based on anything else.

In calmer moments, Turley, the George Washington professor, discouraged impeachment and cited the absence of direct evidence and established crimes. He warned the committee that its actions, which would affect all future presidencies, should not be motivated by emotions.

“We are living in the very period described by Alexander Hamilton: a period of agitated passions,” Turley said. “I get it. You’re mad. The president’s mad. My Republican friends are mad. My Democratic friends are mad. My wife is mad. My kids are mad. Even my dog seems mad, and Luna is a goldendoodle, and they don’t get mad.”

Turley had also been in this position before, in November 1998, when the same committee heard his testimony in favor of the impeachment of Bill Clinton.

“I personally must say I find [Ben] Franklin’s words the most interesting and the most influential on my view,” Turley said then. “Franklin at one point defines impeachment as a process by which we respond to conduct that he called ‘obnoxious.’ ”

Turley was and is the worst. Obviously the house democrats know this but why they did not discredit him publicly is frustrating.

Brown kids don’t count, stupid.

Didn’t get to watch any of the hearings, but I heard Baby Gaetz made an ass out of himself, so I googled for footage, and every hit for the first like 20 were sites describing his performance favorably. Watched the clip, and yep he made an ass out of himself, but in a way that his base will love, so WAAF, still.

Dems are bad at character assassination. They are too instinctively diplomatic and don’t want to wreck people for the sake of wrecking them.

Confronting Turley with his contradictions and his hypocrisy is not wrecking a person just for the sake of wrecking them. That’s attacking his credibility and thus weighing his testimony as without merit.

But I’m not talking about just confronting him with his contradictions. I’m talking about instinctively attacking his credibility using whatever works, regardless of merit.

It’s literally a legal/political proceeding. How bad do you think AOC would have wrecked this guy? She would have read to him what he said 20 years and made a total ass of him.

… Which is why we love her. She’s what the new Democrats will look like we’re all hoping.

So, like, what’s next? Are there any more public hearings scheduled, or do we just roll out the articles?
