It's time to delete Metabook, Twitter and TikTok (and Reddit). Fuck it, social media is cancer - a thread.

Algorithm really dialing it up this week!

I don’t get why Fox hasn’t given this Bongino guy his own show yet.

Facebook says it is introducing new features to give people more control over what appears in their news feeds.

lol.

I have complete control of what’s in my news-feed because I don’t use Facebook but an rss reader so :fu:

Good news I read is apple’s change to ask if you want to be tracked has cost the likes of Facebook, snap, Twitter et al ten billion dollars so far.

It’s funny when Facebook tried to pretend they were making billions off something allegedly good for us.

According to Facebook’s Q3 Widely Viewed Content Report, the most widely viewed page in the US, and the page responsible for the most viewed, third-most viewed, fourth-most viewed, and eighth-most viewed pieces of content on the site is called Thinkarete Lifestyle. Which begs the question, who or what is Thinkarete Lifestyle

Turn out it’s a food blogger that tried to create a side hustle with the whole droppshipped kitchen “brand” items sold on a wordpress store.

Facebook flipped a switch, favoring comments and reactions over shares, and suddenly a food blogger from Utah became the largest publisher in the country, if not the world.

The one mystery we weren’t able to figure out is why any sane person working at Facebook would feel comfortable publishing a content report that admitted that the most viral publisher on its platform this year was a barely active drop-shipping scam page full of stolen video content run by an LLC that doesn’t even exist anymore.

Google fired employees for protesting work with border patrol. Even though employees felt they were holding up their “don’t be evil” pledge they signed.

They meant don’t get caught being evil.

About once a day on my FJ Cruiser group, someone pops up bitching about gas prices along with Lets Go Brandon, or taping over Cruiser on their car to create FJB.

They are as sure that the sun will come up in the East as they are that Biden shutting down pipelines and just generally being anti-oil and anti-business is 100% the reason for high gas prices. Like they’re legitimately shocked that anyone even gives them pushback (until a mod turns off comments). Biden = high gas prices. These things are known.

It’s disheartening how effortlessly the right wing media bubble is able to gin up massive rage in their base. They don’t even have to come up with new material. Just dust off GAS PRICES! and play it on loop.

Confirmed that Biden day 1 shut down all of the pipelines, which is why gas prices are out of control. I assume he also shut down the food pipelines, because groceries are twice as expensive as they were under Trump. “Too bad a businessman didn’t get elected President!”

Also the booming economy is all because of Trump, except for the part where no one wants to work, which is all Biden.

I personally know dumbass rednecks from Alabamastan who were blaming Biden for shit all the way back in December of last year.

“Facebook executives were fully aware that posts ordering hits by the Myanmar government on the minority Muslim Rohingya were spreading wildly on Facebook,” one former Facebook employee said in a whistleblower complaint that was cited by the new lawsuit. “The issue of the Rohingya being targeted on Facebook was well known inside the company for years.”
