There might be people at Facebook with bonuses that depend on the rating.
There might be facebook users that use their website but won‘t install the app if it has a low rating because they will assume the app is terrible in some way so why bother. These people will spend less time on facebook overall if they are not carrying it with them everywhere.

Yeah their brand is pretty important. Our workplace chat function is run by Facebook, and a big enough backlash against their brand would make more traditional large companies abandon their tools. Thats bad for Facebook.
Tim Cook hates Zuck and Apple is openly at war with Facebook over privacy (you now have to affirmatively say you want Facebook tracking you on other sites on iphones).
Like poker, any information you have that your competitors don’t is an advantage that you can make money off of. Not surprising that Apple would want to keep information they collect from other corporations.
I’m sure Facebook is feeling the heat because their user base basically can’t get any bigger. Unless they jack up the advertisements, they might be in trouble.

People constantly say it’s time to “delete” Facebook, but what if you’re like me and you’ve never “leted” it in the first place?
But Apple doesn’t sell ads nor information. They sell hardware and software, and music, and movies etc etc.
They fell into this privacy angle and are absolutely embracing it. I feel one thousand percent more comfortable using Apple devices than android devices.
And that information can be used to tailor products to certain groups. If POC bought more Apple products than white people, they probably wouldn’t have included a U2 album with the iPod.
I probably cut away 90% of my feed after using Social Fixer to filter ads, covid19, politics, religion, missing people, and sponsored/suggested posts.
People suck.
