For someone who is supposed to either win the whole thing or be close to winning the whole thing that’s not a very big crowd. Granted it’s an hour before the super bowl… but the super bowl was the day before the IA caucus.
I want to make sure I make enough ‘lol Biden crowds so small’ posts that I can claim I told everyone so if he massively underperforms, but don’t get called out for being massively wrong if he does fine.
Nevada has an “early caucus” this year which is exactly that. People go in and fill out a form with their top 3 choices. But they still have their in-person caucus too, for the stubborn traditionalists.
I’m actually shocked at this narrative here, one I agree with but this is also one that bernie definitely would not agree with (he’d pick 100% caucuses over primaries, as he does better with the former).
Most people just aint got the time for having to stand around for hours for a caucus.
the international ones are kind of performative, because Americans Abroad have their own separate primary with DNC delegates, which these folks are allowed to participate in.
