Impeachment Watch: Happening Status: It's

I’d be interested in betting against any articles of impeachment being brought to a vote by the house by the end of February.

You chased him away. You won

Yeah it’s pretty obvious at this point that the Dem Boomers are too cowardly to actually impeach the president. I know it hurts to admit that people who you’ve thought of as being on your side your whole life are in fact bought and paid for corporate whores… but that’s been pretty obvious for quite some time at this point.

Like if the HRC campaign followed by everything that has happened since 2016 hasn’t made it obvious that the whole political system in 2019 is a scam… idk you’re mentally ill I guess?

What was wrong with the HRC campaign?

She ran a good campaign in an insane environment, facing an opponent there was no rulebook for and a media that has had a 30 year hitjob out on her, while trump generated unlimited free air time

And STILL won by a few million votes

Well, she lost to one of the worst candidates of all time, so we could start there.

No. She made an insane number of unforced errors and lost to the worst candidate (that wasn’t her) in American history. Yes she had some bad breaks, but that was basically required for her to lose.

I’m sorry but you saying ‘she ran a good campaign’ just strongly suggests that you don’t realize that her ads were bad (this is mostly having terrible staff picked for personal loyalty rather than talent), that she ignored states she had to win to run up the score in states she was guaranteed to win, and actually told her supporters that she couldn’t lose repeatedly (that alone cost her the election, it was really close). She also had awful advisers, who she had picked because of their personal loyalty to her rather than their ability. She didn’t take Trump seriously and she tried to make it all look easy. The funny thing about trying to make something inherently hard look easy is that you end up looking really stupid some % of the time. And now her legacy is as one of the most destructive politicians in American history.

Then there’s the issue of the fact that she personally was a lousy candidate with tons of awful baggage that prevented her from being able to fully exploit things like the Access Hollywood tape. She shouldn’t have run in the first place, and because of her many many errors and personal flaws she’s directly responsible for every single thing Trump has done and will do going forward. Because the causal link between her fuck ups and Trump getting to be president is 100% solid. It wasn’t supposed to be possible. Fucking Trump didn’t even think it was possible ffs. Such a complete garbage human. The biggest lie told in the 2016 election cycle was that HRC was an operator or competent in any way. Maybe she was once, but by the time Trump beat her her faculties had clearly eroded to an extreme degree.

Not cool, dude. Please consider deleting this.

Edited to remove since BS deleted it

lol

It’s almost like you and cuze don’t realize she lost (but didnt really) an UNFAIR ELECTION. Looking at the results of a rigged, unfair election she was leading by what 5-8 pts in polling data in critical states, what could she have possibly done differently? No one could anticipate comey going full (word im not supposed to say) idiot and doing what he did, nor did anyone understand the scope of russian election meddling. Really the only honest complaint you can make about her is she didnt cheat enough.

It’s the height of stupidity to look at the results and make a conclusion based on that.

That edit is as far as I’ll go. She’s going to remain the only political figure I hate more than Trump until I literally die. You guys can make excuses for her incredible run of hubris addled decision making all you want… but she’s entirely culpable for the results of her actions.

I regret nothing I said honestly. She’s more responsible for her own defeat than literally anyone else. Like several times over. That absolutely includes Comey AND Putin.

I’m sorry but she’s directly responsible for everything Trump has done. Lots of people have died, the global economy has been damaged significantly, and the global response to climate change has been meaningfully slowed. Several million dead people will probably be indirectly attributable to her decision making by the time it’s all over. I’m not sorry that I’m extremely bitter about that.

And you’re absolutely right that the election wasn’t fair. She had every advantage a candidate could possibly have. She squandered all of it. You guys are only paying attention to the stuff that went against her. She drew Trump for an opponent, was following a basically popular president (particularly with Democrats), and had access to really capable people. She made her choices and those choices had consequences. The economy was extremely strong and her party could credibly take responsibility for that.

What’s really scary is that you guys are pretending like she did a good job. That’s the kind of thinking that will get Biden through the primary and set us up for four more years of Trump.

Her mistakes:

  1. She ran in the first place despite being hugely dirty (for proof see her speaking arrangements, her husbands speaking arrangements, decades of GOP led smear campaigns that made her into a literal cartoon villain in middle America, her families net worth since leaving office), having zero charisma, and being demonstrably bad at running for office.

  2. She pushed every other major contender out of the primary race.

  3. Her campaign put their fingers on the scale aggressively during the primary against Bernie (who if you need to cheat against you’re already in trouble on) and then emailed people about it. Those emails then got hacked and leaked causing significant turnout damage among the left wing part of the base.

  4. Her ads were terrible.

  5. Her ad spending was badly misallocated.

  6. She more or less never visited the ‘blue wall’ states and simply assumed they were going for her despite lots of warnings from people on the ground in those states.

  7. She spent resources on states that she was sure to win in an attempt to goose the popular vote.

  8. She did a truly shit job of handling Trump in the debates. She ‘beat him’ but he didn’t get demolished the way he should have been.

  9. Her messaging basically made Trump seem like a wrestling heel. In some places her ads probably were a net positive for Trump.

  10. She didn’t yell at the Obama administration until they started yelling about Russian interference.

  11. She told everyone that she couldn’t lose. (this was a biiig one and totally inexcusable even if it had been true. There were down ballot races to consider.)

  12. She didn’t go after Trump about his business screwing over literally thousands of small business owners in his lifetime.

  13. Her oppo research on Trump was a complete joke.

  14. She clearly didn’t take Trump at all seriously and simply didn’t go after him anywhere near as viciously as she could have. ‘When they go low we go high’ lol wtf ever. There was more nasty shit about Trump in the public domain than literally any candidate in the history of this country.

  15. She horribly mishandled the emails thing. That should have been 100% wrapped up before she even ran for office. She should have voluntarily given the feds absolutely everything she had, and if necessary pled out to something to make it go away. The idea that somehow Comey saying she was under investigation was a bigger negative break than Donald Trump being caught ON TAPE admitting to sex crimes is simply crazy.

  16. Because of the points in 1. she couldn’t properly weaponize the access hollywood tape. Being Bill Clintons wife made it impossible for her to call him out on his close personal relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. Being Bill Clintons wife made it possible for him to pull a whataboutism rabbit out of his hat when he was caught ON TAPE admitting to sexual assault.

  17. She didn’t cheat enough.

I could keep going for a long long while beyond these points. The bottom line is that she is a terribly incompetent person who had no business ever running for any public office. I wouldn’t trust her to run a hotdog stand much less the country. You guys can pretend like her entire campaign wasn’t one giant extended trash fire, but that shows you’re delusional or know literally nothing about politics.

She deserved to lose and would have lost to most of the other GOP candidates as well. Trump was basically the best hand she could have been dealt and she misplayed it on a truly spectacular level.

I agree with basically all of that, just think those particular comments were a bit far given the subject matter. Thanks for deleting.

At what point do you cross into that territory? Never? I obviously don’t agree. I think her campaign was the single biggest fuckup in American political history. Trumps performance since taking office proves that he wasn’t crazy like a fox, he was just lucky that he drew the only opponent he could have possibly beat.

She lost. If winning the popular vote makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside, I guess you can feel pretty warm and fuzzy about 2020 too. Yeah, the electoral college system sucks, but it’s what we’ve got. It’s how we decide who wins and loses, so yeah, she lost.

Right, but we knew it would be unfair in a variety of ways. It’s baked in. She still had to win.

If we ran a better candidate, they would have won a close election rather than losing due to all of that other stuff. Having the campaign be within the margin of Comey, etc, impacting the final outcome… that’s on her.

I don’t know and don’t particularly care right now, but I feel entirely comfortable in saying that openly encouraging or rooting for someone to commit suicide is beyond the line. This is way more than I intended to say on the subject–thank you for deleting the comment.

“I’m with her” says it all, really.

Thanks for deleting the comment boredsocial… :v:
