They didn’t actually have a vote, Schumer asked them to approve it unanimously and Moscow Mitch agreed, probably just so no one had an actual vote on record either way.
I was being hopeful earlier. I didn’t actually think it would happen lol.
But yeah Mitch has always been a traitorous snake. It’s entirely possible than his backing Trump fully in the Senate was always an air bluff and he has no intention of actually getting in the way.
It really depends on how bad it all is for Trump. His popularity might fall really hard, even among Republican voters, if the full truth comes out… and Mitch might see the writing on the wall.

Mitch probably wants to see what the whistleblower has to say. No sense blocking it.
It’s also possible he heard from Trump that there’s nothing there.
Mitch says he brought it forward and :
A it’s obviously blocked as it’s not unanimous so he says he tried.
or
B they release the transcript instead of the whistleblower report and the Republicans say afterward that the Dems cried wolf and they then block all further investigations and stand behind the fact they looked into it to be fair, but obviously there was nothing and the Dems are just playing political games, constantly crying wolf

Highly doubt he believes anything Trump says. Maybe Trump’s assurance that it was innocent only made Mitch more nervous.
