I have no problem spouting opinions when I think I know at least a little something about a topic. But I don’t know what I’m talking about here. Some of you guys are way deeper into how politics work than I am. I’m probably going to take a beating for this, but here goes…
I’ve said this before, but I’ve come to loathe Trump not only as a president, but as a human being. If given a choice between having him impeached and convicted out of office in the last year of his presidency, or seeing that infant brained racist mother fucker in a prison jumpsuit, I’d rather wait. Mostly because he’d get snap pardoned for all his federal crimes by Pence anyway (who’d be a disaster of a president in his own right btw)
I get that the right thing to do is impeach NOW so that no one may ever get away with undermining the office like this again. I also understand there’s a risk that if he wins in 2020 the statute of limitations will have expired on some of his crimes. But I’m not so sure which brings truer justice. I also worry that impeachment proceedings allows him to play the martyr card and gain in popularity. I know that none of this should be considered. He’s committed numerous impeachable offenses and should be impeached! But part of me hopes he’s not and then loses the election only to be convicted as a normal citizen for his crimes so he can face what he fears the most. Ignominious SHAME! The public humiliation as he’s carted off to jail
If Pelosi had the same position in some third world country, we’d get that video of the '72 Cutlass dragging her burning remains down an unpaved alleyway lined with howling rebels.
I think most of us here get what you’re saying, and agree. From a personal joy perspective, I’d rather he leave office after a landslide defeat and be marched the next day into court in handcuffs. However, individual justice aside, I think the greater service to the country is to send a message that you cannot sit in the oval office committing crimes daily. At least cut it back to once a week if you want to hold the highest office in the land.
I can confirm this is true. Nunhi PMed me trying to get me to act as his go-between but I refused. So it’s not surprising that he’s going through others to “avoid” “posting” in this “thread”.
Sure. We need the pie in the sky establishment voice who disdains anyone who borders on realism while calling them scum, shitty lawyers, fake Dems, non-entity humans, etc. Who doesn’t want that.
Also being right about literally nothing so far ever. Those people deserve ridicule and if they are immature enough to quit that’s sad and all but…
I thought this was a place where we discussed ideas and the best ideas/views won out. Not a place where we coddle wishcasting and false optimism.
I’d rather he didn’t quit, too, but that doesn’t mean I’m just going to let his outrageous views go unchallenged.
I mean, shit, look at the joke put on today by Nadler’s committee. Do we really need someone here to tell us how great of a job they did and how this was the next domino to fall on the way to a rapid impeachment?
That sort of delusion is terrible for people here.
The same applies to him, he could just not respond to you, but there’s a difference between not coddling wishcasting and false optimism once or twice and then realize: “heh lol, I don’t think I’m gonna get through to him on this atm, try again in a few weeks” and turning it into a crusade that you know isn’t going anywhere. No need to do that, that’s just self-indulgence, not righteousness. He has proven to be pretty sensitive about this in the past, he was close to quitting before, if he were some reactionary douche I’d say well done but he’s not.
In the worst case, he can’t do what you ask, but it should still cost you nothing to ignore him, he’s was a mostly solid contributor to a still nascent discussion board
Gtfo with this. Everyone is engaged in interpretation of current events and he was nothing short of bullied into quitting because he refused to read the tea leaves like you did.
lol didn’t he quit because Cuse called him out for believing some in Congress have read the full unredacted Meuller report? The print media didn’t write it down because they aren’t paying attention? It is nobody’s fault but his that his walls of text don’t stand up to 5 minutes of scrutiny.
He wasn’t bullied. He since the exiled board lashed out with personal attacks against a wide range of people while his horrible posts were getting shredded. Then he didn’t like the fallout from it.
That’s just a completely non-factual take on what happened.
