The presidents lawlessness is one of the most important issues for me. It will have long lasting repercussions if not delt with.
In a Lawnmower dictatorship, Pelosi gets death for aiding the enemy. Also those people running fake ads go straight to the gas chambers. Left needs a strongman that will kill, not another Alan Colmes.
Well, you can be a real dick
But thanks. I didn’t know that. I skimmed through most of it and yeah, he does seem a bit sensitive. But I think his heart is in the right place. That is,he cares and wants that POS out of office and get his comeuppance just most people here do. I wish he’d have stuck around
Edit: Just kidding about being a real dick. I’ve actually come to respect your opinion and think you’re a good poster even if I do sometimes strongly disagree
I would assume it’s like a privileged resolution and has to be done within a certain amount of time, but even if not, then it would be on them and they’d look like the ones pulling a stunt.

I can be a bit of a dick sometimes, but I try to keep it to dunking on a person’s arguments and not going too hard after the poster themselves. I agree nunnehi’s heart is in the right place, and I told him as much both on here and via PM. I also encouraged him to stick around. I just think he wants the right thing to happen so badly that it’s biasing him way too much, and/or he just needs to believe in the Dem establishment because he needs that hope that someone is going to do the right thing.
As I’ve said repeatedly, I’d LOVE to be the one who’s totally wrong on that stuff.

No worries, thanks. I make aggressive arguments when I strongly disagree and/or think it’s a really important topic.
Real.

If the senate impeachment trial needs “to be done within a certain amount of time”, that’s code for “won’t even happen” because there are no consequences and nothing matters.
Looks like there’s 4 more on the record for impeachment…
Politico reports that Hakeem Jeffries of New York, Marcy Kaptur of Ohio, and Darren Soto of Florida are officially on the record in support of starting an official impeachment inquiry. These have not been reported elsewhere yet. CNN reports that John Sarbanes of Maryland is also on the record, but Politico has not counted him yet. ActBlue does have him. All voted Yay to table the Al Green impeachment resolution.
Hakeem Jeffries is one of the right hand people of Nancy Pelosi.
Marcy Kaptur is the longest serving woman in the House, and is the second longest serving woman in the history of the House of Representatives. She has the 6th most seniority of any member of the House of Representatives.
These 4 members make the hard floor in support of starting an official impeachment inquiry 148 Democratic members of the House (even though one is underway based on Nadler’s words and the Judiciary Committee vote today). The soft floor is 154 Democrats (Jeffries was part of the soft floor and has now lowered that count by one).
It’s very obvious by now that Pelosi is compromised, or hopelessly incompetent, or too much a part of the grift to ever rock the boat.
I dont think there is any politician other than trump that I hate more.
It’s possible she’s 4d chessing this but I dont think she has it in her.
I think AOC taking down the guy she may have intended to be her successor really shook her. She’s dug in her heels against people who won’t do things her way on her timetable.
I think what’s obvious is that Pelosi has been giving the talk by the GOP with something similar too this “You better make 1000% sure that this IS what you want to do” and she knows she has skeletons in the closet.
The error here is thinking that “the smoking gun” or “an ironclad case” matters.
Agreed
Doing the Nunehhi’s work (sp?)
Hakeem Jeffries is a big one.
One of the big questions, though, is how hard these folks want to fight Pelosi on this. Do they just want to come out in support and then go back to minding their own business? If so, she has an easy win and their “yes” is really just their easiest way to both sides it.
Everyone has skeletons. At some point, you just have to either suck it up and do what’s best for the country or be on the wrong side of history.
When I seen nunnehi posting that he’d not be back I pm’d him to say that I would post some articles here as I was meant to do that anyways… I think I posted so in this thread that I would try to post some as he was doing it all by himself.

It could be the first or the latter, but I don’t think she’s incompetent. On the contrary, she’s a seasoned, tactical, and very sharp savvy politician. The optimist in me wants to take her at her word when she said she doesn’t want to see him impeached, she wants to see him in jail. Honestly, if it has to be one or the other, I’d prefer that outcome as well. There’s nothing I want to see more than to see Trump, Jr., Kushner, and possibly Ivanka hauled off to jail
But even if that is what she’s shooting for, I think her ethical duty is to impeach. But it’s a rare politician, least of all her, that puts ethics ahead of their career, so you’re probably right to hate her
