ICE: it's really bad and getting worse

My flashlight has a window breaking feature (just a hard metal point). This sounds like the lady who fired her gun instead of the taser. Oops, wrong tool.

I would be surprised if any organization trained their officers to use their service weapons as anything other than guns. I guess ICE is just using video games for training…

You sure about that? That’s like almost 10 min miles.

Could you have done it pre-surgery?

I’d still bet on you being able to do it if your life depended on it.

The Long Run

Read this as fleshlight… really not sure the need for that combination of features

Not much use as a sex thing. You could blind yourself if you’re not careful.

I used to have a Maglite. Not all the funky features but nice and heavy. Gave me a sense of security, iykwim. Unfortunately the batteries leaked and corroded and I couldn’t save it. Costco had an Xfinity x1 5000 for cheap so I picked that up as a replacement. Not as hefty but it will do. I’m pretty well fixed for light sources now.

i’m surprised that people here think 1.5 miles in 14 minutes is a piece of cake. i guess i need to spend less time eating and more time running.

Did just Cactus think it’s easy? He’s only like 30 years old.

He said his 60-something dad could easily clear it.

Maybe when he’s running his 5-minute miles he just can’t imagine that a human being could be so slow.

BTW, is there a single human on the planet who would both:

A) Pass the 1.5 mile run in under 14:25
B) Fail the 1/8 mile sprint by going over 47.73

The pace for each race is almost exactly the same.*

*EDIT: Ignore this. I mathed bad. Original question still stands though.

If you run like 5 times in 15 days your lungs will improve drastically and you’ll be able to clear that no problem if you’re under ~260 lbs and the age of 55 without health problems.

Sounds like you should trying imagining running as a piece of cake, for motivation.

It’s under a 6.5 mph speed, and that’s basically a light run. When I ran a lot I could hold a 9 mph speed on a treadmill for up to an hour as a regular workout. Doing 6.5 for 15 minutes is easily achievable with a month of practice for most people.

A single 10-min mile should be doable for anyone who’s reasonably fit enough to consider working in law enforcement.

I could very nearly walk the 1.5 miles in 14:25. SPrint would also be easy.

I could do 22 Pete Hegseth push-ups, but I doubt I could do 22 true military style right now. Would probably need a few days practice to do that in a minute.

I haven’t done a sit up since I was a kid. I thought they banned those years ago. Just the thought of doing 32 in a minute is causing me physical pain. No idea how plausible that is, but it sounds insane to me. Not going to test it though.

I run every day and that’s just not so. It’s not fast by any means, but it is at least twice a walking pace.

I do think people here are underestimating the run. It’s not ā€œhardā€ but you definitely have to be reasonably fit. Not surprised these wannabe ICE chuds are failing.

Yeah, I did 2.43 mi this morning in 1h2m, in the dark with 500 feet of climbing in the first mile. On the flats I’m barely breaking 19 minute miles. Granted, I’m old and fat but Strava says I’ve walked/hiked 350 miles this year. I’m not saying Trolly can’t do 1.5 miles in 15 minutes, but it wouldn’t be walking.
