Johnny, do you have a sense yet for how the rest of the people responded? This sort of stuff used to terrify me, too, until I found out a lot of people see the guy who put you in that spot as reckless and stupid even when they agree with him. They would rather not talk about it and hate the guy who insists on bringing it up.
I have found that in general is true about assholes. A lot of times I felt alone and wondered if that person is only an asshole to me and everyone is on their side, but I found out no, everyone sees that person for who they are.
You are one of the few people who has ever contacted me just to see how I was doing, or to enter a call and say you were thinking about something I said and want to know more about it. Such generosity to others is rare. That is the sort of person I look forward to seeing in this community and would hate to lose.
