Oh they love Trump. A lot of immigrants come from authoritarian regimes so it makes sense they would gravitate towards the authoritarian president.
I think cognitive dissonance strongly affects these attitudes. But the effect can seem counterintuitive.
You leave a dangerous situation in an authoritarian country to come to the US. Youâre happy to be here but then the US suddenly veers towards authoritarianism. That puts you in a mentally uncomfortable spot. How do you resolve the conflict?

Purely based on feels, it is my opinion that some people who have experienced authoritarian persecution want to fight against authoritarianism, some want to make sure that theyâre on the next authoritarianâs team.

well yes, absolutely. the thing youâre missing is that Trumpâs idea of âtrumperâ and yours are different, though. If youâre not buying seven (maybe eight) figures of trumpcoin youâre not a trumper.
Yeah, I guess the question is why anyone would want to be on team authoritarian. Maybe itâs easier because thatâs what theyâve known and itâs in some ways more comfortable and natural. Or maybe they just want to be the ones meting out the punishments rather than being on the receiving end. It could just be about control. If itâs not your guy, you have none. If it is your guy, youâre more in charge.

2019/2020 is a bit dated and a bit unconventional for the genre. Also he seems not truly wrecked the way our last idiot was. Iâm not even sure we have tears. It really is funny that it never occurs to these MAGA chuds to vet their own employees. Or when they go to a restaurant and get mad service is slow or the maid doesnât make their bed on vacation.
