Mr. Thiel has long been an exception to the atheism and agnosticism of his peers. He has said his Christian faith is at the center of his worldview, which he expounds upon with a heterodox approach — fusing references to Scripture and conservative political theory, parsing ancient signs and wonders for their connection to tech wonders today. In recent podcast interviews, he draws on biblical prophesies to warn of an Antichrist who will promise safety from existential threats like artificial intelligence and nuclear war but bring something much worse: one-world government.
If Dems weren’t feckless it would be great for one of them to just clown on Trump for an hour at the end of the day just for the LOLs with the full protection of the speech and debate clause. Although, I presume as a public figure, slandering the POTUS ought to be damn near impossible, the extra protection should provide some comfort.
Yeah, I know if Obama didn’t do that, we maybe wouldn’t be in this timeline. Nevertheless, I’m good with it, consequences be damned.
“With Starbucks’ discriminatory patterns, practices, and policies, Missouri’s consumers are required to pay higher prices and wait longer for goods and services that could be provided for less had Starbucks employed the most qualified workers, regardless of their race, color, sex, or national origin.”

It’s a bit more than just disparate impact. They’re basically going after diversity targets for management, which makes a kind of sense. My question is, let’s say you’re a company and you know that you’re lacking in some area. You want to reach out to some racial or sex group. Maybe you want to hire more women to soften your image or Hispanics because your brand is playing well with Hispanics, could you set a quota that mentions that so long as your quote isn’t roughly out of line with general demographics? It seems like the answer is no.
