Smell like curry sounds pretty damn good tbh.
No but if she turns off all of Indian MAGA, thatâs bad for Trump and might get her expelled from the Legion of Goons.
Itâs the laziest racist reference you can possibly make about Indian people. Call center is the 2nd laziest.
I just mean how is that an insult lol? Curry smells good? And tastes better?
These people spend their whole lives hiding from new experiences and then think everyone else is the problem. Itâs fucking legitimately insane.
They probably went over to some ethnic personâs house once as a kid and it smelled weird. And now thatâs funny to them as a racist slam or something.
OMG YOU GUYS LIKE NUTRITIOUS AND DELICIOUS FOOD (Munches Great Value Dino Nugget) GROSSSSS!!!
Youâre taking her too literally. Itâs a dogwhistle about Indian people smelling like BO.
a political compass meme of âlooks disgustingâ by âtastes delightfulâ where curry and mac & cheese are pinned on opposite corners
This convo is oddly timely given my Uber ride home last night from the airport. Driverâs rating was 4.76 or something, which is unusually low for the area. So my antenna was up a bit.
I get in the car and there is a very strong odor of some type of Indian or southwest Asian food. (Mightâve been mixed with a bit of BO, Iâm not really sure). Food I love, but not necessarily food I want my Uber to smell like the whole way home when not expecting it. Iâm torn about whether I submit a non-5 star review (which would also cite some questionable driving practices, like navigating off a phone sitting on his lap, and going very slowly in the left lane of a 3 lane highway) because it does feel a little racist to ding someone for that. I assume it is a mix of the above that caused his low rating.
I have a really hard time leaving a bad review for anything unless the shitshow is beyond the pale.
Went to a new coffee shop this AM. Coffee was fine, vibes were good, but the seating was just atrocious - no actual chairs, just barstools inside. And outside some seat-type rocks in a garden type area. I want to warn people that this is not a place to bring your laptop and do work (which was my intention, had work going on at my house) but it just seems petty.
I think coffee places figured out during the pandemic that they do better financially if people donât hang around, they buy the cheapest cup of tea or whatever and then fuck up the restroom and clog up the parkinglot etc
The Utah legislature put this constitutional amendment on the ballot to give themselves the power to reverse any ballot initiatives the voters might pass, motivated by the constraints voters have tried to put on them over gerrymandering. They worded it to sound like they were increasing votersâ say. The judge looks like sheâs tired of this bullshit.
Indian MAGA really dislikes Kamala, from what I can tell. They also take the Trumpish line of âFake IndianâŚâ. I heard this one IRL and the dude who was saying it was trying to make the point that she is just Black.
Of course, that would put them at odds with Orange Man, who is suggesting she is not really Black, and they would have to say that he is wrong about that. But they donât care, of course. For MAGAs of all stripes, these kinds contradictions are of little consequence.
Theyâre leaning all the way into âit doesnât matter if itâs true as long as it feels trueâ.
Yeah, I usually feel similarly. Like, this was overall not a pleasant experience, and I didnât feel he was a particularly safe driver, but his profile in the app said something like âI drive to pay living expenses and tuitionâ. I really donât want to be a dick and drive his rating down which could get him kicked off the platform.
I think a 4 star. âCoffee was good. No space for your laptop.â Type review is fine.
Actually itâs is(was) a widely held belief among Indian immigrants of all political stripes that Kamala Harris has typically downplayed the south asian side of her ancestry and is often seen as âonly blackâ in the political sphere.
Then to be fair, I only found out that Obama was half white, well into the primary campaign - when I read a bio piece about him.
