My grandfather worked with George Romney when Romney was HUD Secretary. My grandpa was the FHA director in Milwaukee and, as the NY Times put it in a 1972 article, “was one of the few in the country who ran an exemplary inner city housing program, including sales of homes to welfare mothers without scandal. Yet he was dismissed because he did not meet the patronage requirements of the Wisconsin Republican Committee.”
He was a Democrat and when a Republican governor took office, he was fired, even though his programs were held up as the gold standard in the country. Even other Republicans didn’t want him let go.
After that, when he was in another job (banking, I think), Romney called him up and asked him to meet him in D.C. Long story short, he advised Romney on some shit. My point is yes, I believe Romney was decent dude or, knowing my grandpa, there’s no fucking way he would’ve worked with him. Or even if he wasn’t decent in all respects, in this one part of his job, my grandpa appreciated what he was trying to accomplish and was willing to give him an assist because it was good for people who needed help.

This poll is a little deceptive imo. Would be better to see how Trump does in heads up matchup against everyone else, though i think he’d still dominate. If there’s any chance to primary Trump it would be with just one opponent and not ten.
We went through this in 2016, no? IMO he either fades out through publicity starvation or he’s back in '24 if he wants it (and isn’t dead or whatever).

From what I have gathered getting on AI is something she has wanted to do for quite a while (relative for her age). I just assume given the notoriety it was something she was able to capitalize on.
Happily Crenshaw, Cruz, Cornyn and Abbott are all getting their stuff pushed in today.
Unfortunately it’s at the expense of a lot of people in Texas.

So Texas is getting hit hard with the weather and blackouts. A mayor in some shithole town told people to suck it up. It did not end well. Wife got fired, he resigned, and of course blamed it all on everyone else taking his words out of context.
