Making matters worse, Fisher expected the Trump administration to have a second term and take the wall off his hands. Obviously, that didn’t happen, and the Biden administration has already shown that it’s not in the wall-building business. We’re also guessing Mexico won’t pick up the tab either.
Forrest is such a generic Rednecky name that I’m not even sure most are even aware of the Civil War connection. You’d name your dog Lee or something if you really wanted to go hardcore Lost Cause.
In hardcore racist corners Forrest is more revered than Lee. Forrest is the epitome of the Lost Cause as he rose from the ranks of a private to a brigadier general and then never gave up the fight, while Lee is seen as only reluctantly joining the CSA and once the war was over being content to accept the loss and advocate for reconciliation. Some even blame Lee for surrendering rather than fighting on using guerilla tactics.
Lee is the man “respectable” southerners honor, Forrest is the one the overt racists love.
LOL at him rising from private to brigadier general. The man was a rich slave trader who officially enlisted as a private but shortly after equipped a cavalry company out of his own pocket to command. My guess is that he enlisted as a private to create a misleading narrative.
One of the worst people of the whole war and the reconstruction era that came after it. The fact that they still had a statue of him in a state building in 2021 is pretty bad.
But hey he was one of the most difficult to deal with enemy commanders this country has ever had to fight… and to some traitorous pieces of shit who covertly hate this country and everything decent people think it stands for that makes him a hero.
Hi five. First r rated movie I ever saw. My dad was a workaholic so him being home with his kids during day was super rare. This also means he didn’t know taking 11 year old 9 year old and friends to r rated movie night receive blow back. Still a super memorable experience for me.
