Roger Stone in the barrel again.
It seems weird they’re suing? For some reason I assumed they just started garnishing wages and confiscating shit.
That’s for poors, duh. Also Stone has no wages.
When normal people don’t pay taxes, they get a letter “you owe xxx,” after which the unpleasant shit starts automatically. This Stone BS is literally a Dave Chappelle skit.
Criminal statue of limitations? Who knows, lol this country
Any lawbros wanna explain why this is a civil suit? Not paying taxes isn’t a crime?
DoJ slackers iyam. What about the wages of sin?
Well, you tell me. Are they actually pursuing both? I’ve only seen what looks like civil suit.
I have no clue how this stuff works, but in other situations it seems that the criminal prosecution plays out first.
The is both civil and criminal liability for tax evasion.
I don’t know much about tax evasion law, but i suspect criminal requires proving intent, while civil covers any errors. I suspect criminal charges can be brought if the evidence shows that the underpayment was willful and not simply mistaken. It’s likely easier to file civil first and obtain additional evidence via legal process. Also, standard of proof is preponderance of the evidence vs beyond reasonable doubt.
I guess that makes sense. Thanks.
The NYT is hilariously awful at reporting on this stuff. Anyone with a clue reads the headline and instantly wonders “why are there no criminal charges,” yet that is not answered in the article.
Oh good, the universe is going to tease me with the prospect of Stone getting got only to pull the football away at the last second.
How does this guy not go insane, he is always right, shouting into the void

This will probably go away if we ignore it
That the 2020 election was stolen is going to be a historical fact for mainstream Republicans. Just a basic article of faith for anyone running for office.
Definition? Governors of GA and AZ seem pretty mainstream GOP.
78% of their voters believe this.
I bet 95% believed it three months ago. Good movement,
