GOP Insanity Containment 2: This is the Place. This is the Time, Cowboy.

I love that these shitgibbons never once consider that this is actually what their God wants.

Also, cry harder, Nazi.

I don’t believe in heaven, but I hope (like hell) that hell exists. Just for these guys.

A moronic fuckup from a racist southern dipshit is the perfect way to memorialize the confederacy imo.

Eh this reeks of “high school students shouldn’t be aware of politics and/or vote”

I didn’t realize my adolescence was so apolitical. I could swear I remember lots of Rage Against the Machine, skipping school to go to an Iraq War protest, and getting in a fight with my mom because I took the American flag magnet off the family car when I drove it.

On the other hand, my high school biology teacher skipped the entire four-chapter section on evolution because she didn’t believe in it. Maybe that’s the kind of “apolitical” he’s talking about.

Me: Hell yeah, those were the days… wait WHAT

Maybe yours wasn’t but I feel like that’d be the exception, not the rule. I, personally, knew jack about politics and pretty much nobody I socialized with cared either. I definitely feel like this generation is way more aware

I think teenagers as a whole are probably relatively politically apathetic, but can become engaged when issues impact them. For example, their political engagement was probably higher during the Vietnam War because 18 year olds were getting drafted. Lots of folks mobilized around issues of school integration/forced bussing (on both sides, unfortunately).

This is based purely on vibes, but I think the internet has got young people talking and thinking about politics much more these days than in previous eras.
