A bit surprised that TMNT got bounced by King of the Hill. No real complaint though; that was the most agonizing vote of the whole first round for me.
Going in, I thought I was going to vote for TMNT, but then I gave them both a listen to make sure and what do ya know? KOTH was better (close, though).
But ‘and they’re green’…how could you?

X-Files is something truly unique, and now the opening seconds are synonymous in pop culture with “how the fuck did that happen?”
Gilligan is good, but sounds like a dozen other themes.
I was voting for Miami Vice anyway, but TIL that “Bad Boys” was released in 1987, prior to the debut of “COPS”.
No tough votes for me this round.

I remember it being played on pop radio in the 90s, but not in 1987.

- Protest vote for Scooby-Doo
- Maybe we will have a shut out after all. It definitely deserves it. Twilight Zone is iconic, and BCS had no business winning in the first round.
- I like the Peter Gunn theme. Might be nostalgia from playing it in middle school band.
- Voting for Cops. If it actually was a hit before the show, I might change my mind. If not, I think this is a way different situation than Pink Panther or The Wonder Years.
- NFL on Fox easily.
- X-Files easily.
- I also played Batman in middle school band. If I remember correctly, it was pretty repetitive.
- Law and Order easily.
I’m pretty sure it existed before the show, but was only a hit after. I agree it’s different than Pink Panther (borrowed from the movie) and Wonder Years (big hit on its own).
