Definitely I’m skeptical of Greenwald’s claim and would like to see what Greenwald is basing that on. Which is, of course, a stance Greenwald himself would think is appropriate. Only way it could work is if he had a comprehensive list of people arrested so far and, I guess, searched for those profiles? I don’t know how Parler works so I can’t say if that’s feasible or not. I guess he could have asked his Parler sources to verify if those arrested have an account.
Even if he’s right it’s rhetorically a bad post because there are probably going to be people arrested who did have active Parler accounts and then people are going to be aha gotcha. But they also probably have Facebook accounts and watch Youtoobes and have iMessage and probably Grindr or whatever. All of which can be used to amplify hate and/or plan violence.

Exactly, YouTube and Facebook don’t leave metadata on files and didn’t get all their data hacked.
Sure. But if only “several” of the people in the capitol were Parler users then it seems like it’s dubious that Parler was some sort of nexus of the attack planning. What does the equivalent Twitter or Facebook or Grindr map look like?
With these people increasingly being cut off from other platforms, Parler was well-positioned to become the nexus for the planning of any future attacks.
I’m not saying they are 100% banned, but it is getting harder for them.

I, too, would be interested in hearing these people discuss, freely and without any government interference whatsoever, how badly they are being silenced and how generally horrible their lives are.
