I think there are interesting points underlying what Taibi touches on in that clip. Although, it’s difficult to convey a nuanced position on a complex topic in a 2 minute clip, while speaking extemporaneously.
Perhaps it’s because I was raised as a preacher’s kid, and so I’m more a ucutely aware of fundagelical beliefs, which allows me to more readily identify similar patterns as they manifest themselves in secular systems. There are parallels, and wherever faulty logic exists, bad results can follow.

This is a good exhibit in why Greenwald’s obsession with journalists disseminating “facts” is bullshit. His whole narrative about the Russia leak hurting the Sanders campaign is composed of “facts”, like there are not many Pinnochios to be handed out. The problem is that those facts are arranged in a patently dishonest fashion. The downfall of the Sanders campaign had nothing to do with the Russia leak. I’m sure Glenn knows this full well but it suits him rhetorically to pretend it’s true and so he just does.
Glenn goes on to describe it as “jarring” to see Sanders make fun of Trump’s complaints “fake news” and the “deep state”. Yeah dude maybe that’s because when a guy like Trump is saying “the deep state stole the election from me”, you would have to be a complete fucking dunce to think now is the time for a digression into a history lesson on COINTELPRO.
We have right now an election in which the facts are not in dispute; Biden won. Yet Trump has managed to create a fairly widespread belief in a completely alternate narrative where he was cheated out of it by a sinister cabal. Imagine looking at that and thinking “what we have here is not a narrative problem, instead we need to be slavishly devoted to pedantic factual accuracy” and that a good place to start is to argue that Trump’s complaints aren’t just insane lies because if you squint hard enough they bearing a passing relation to actually-existing power structures.
But of course Glenn doesn’t really believe that. Like everything he ever writes, it’s just an exercise in getting to the bit where he gets to tut-tut at the hypocrisy of others and contrast it with his own fearless devotion to the truth.

Greenwald describes the leak that the Russians were hoping Sanders won the Dem nomination then says:
It is hard to overstate how damaging a leak like this would be for a politician seeking the Democratic Party nomination.
And:
The rest is history. Biden destroyed Sanders in South Carolina. The entire Democratic establishment instantly snapped into line behind Biden in an effort to stop Sanders. Elizabeth Warren, fueled by millions in dark money from a Silicon Valley oligarch pumped into a pro-Warren SuperPAC, stayed in the race through Super Tuesday despite being unable to finish better than third place in any state including her own . Biden cruised to the nomination while Sanders was stuck in his defensive crouch, helpless against an intelligence leak and accompanying narrative that he himself had repeatedly endorsed.
Please don’t Keeeeed it up over the fact that he never outright says “the Russia leak badly damaged the Sanders campaign”, it is beyond even your powers of pedantry to pretend like that is not the impression Greenwald is trying to give here.

Glenn has an overinflated view of himself. He’s nothing more than an annoying fly to swat at in media. Unless you’re heavily plugged in, this guy doesn’t exist in your world.
Yet the guy thinks he’s some superhero journalist defying the powers that want to stop him from delivering the news they don’t want you to hear. Completely delusional.

Looks like Glenn took a punch to his left eye. Makeup couldn’t completely cover up the bruising because it’s still a bit red.
You can see some slight swelling of the eyelid and that the eye itself is red.

I mean it is kind of fucked up that a totally unelected faceless corporate machine ultimately run by like 4 people. can decide to make you an unperson in the digital realm (which is the only social realm we have left). Even if they are currently only doing it to total assholes.
