Glenn Greenwald and Friends: Fearless Adversarial Fox News Contributors

Freeing Lula, no big deal, plenty of journalists have broken stories that have revealed unjust political prosecutions of former heads of state leading to their release from prison. Yawn.

Then he is against those laws? Why link me to the ACLU instead of him?

Well, GG finally has Bari Weiss, DT Jr, Mollie Hemingway etc on his side. Congrats dude.

Free speech absolutism is a cancer on society as well.
[/quote].

Either way this is the post you were responding to and id guess some of them are selective in their absolutism. And i know his new allies like tuck on the right who pretend they are are selective.

Really though most are on all sides. Because id guess just about all would go to the manager if the person checking them out of line said a few choice words.

Give me free speech at work. I should be able to say anything i want to customers and my boss and not get fired!

Add in free expression…do you think porn should be allowed on daytime TV, on this site?

Correct! (in our hypothetical extreme case)

I think you’re almost there.

Now let’s work backwards and see what subjects GGs hardon for free speech ALWAYS lead him to write about, and what side he ALWAYS happens to land on, at least for the decade or so.

My point wasn’t that all the right wingers in that original post are free speech absolutists. It’s that I’m a free speech absolutist and liberals used to generally be free speech absolutists.

Oh, sure, you think that Greenwald supports Trump. You didn’t have to take such a meandering route. I know that’s why you guys hate him now.

Maybe you are… Dont think many liberals have been.

I’m glad we had this breakthrough.

As it turns out - the hills you choose to die on say as much about you, if not more, than the arguments you make defending them.

seems that way, even the ACLU aren’t free speech absolutists these days.

I mean what breakthrough? I know you guys hate Greenwald because you think he supports Trump, along with his partner in crime Joe Rogan. I think that’s nuts!

for the record, GG is not a principled anything.

Not many have ever been.

You ok with swatting, threats on the president, yelling fire in a crowed room.

I don’t think he supports Trump, but he might be a Russian asset.

GG is principled in wanting to troll/anger the libs.

I think he is dumb if he thinks trump did not work with Russia. Im good with him exposing all of Americas ugly. As long as its all of it.

Of course not? Free speech absolutism doesn’t mean you oppose all limits on speech. Libel, incitement, true threats are all recognized as prohibited even by the staunchest free speech advocates. It means that you want to apply the protections on speech that isn’t prohibited by those limits even to the most vile and offensive speech.

No, we hate them because they’re dumb and have very online 2020 brain infections.

GG not being able to be told he can be edited, wanting to trolls the libs above all us just doesn’t work in 2020. Trump winning was the worst possible thing for his brand. If Clinton won he probably would be useful in our media ecosystem! He’s completely lost now and has no value to anyone.

what do you mean?

Then absolutism is a bad word. Since its not absolute. And since we are on the slippery slope should i be able to tell costumers and my boss when costumers complain to go fuck themslefs under this free speech absolutism?
