As someone who has dabbled in AP slots now and again I’m always curious what others are playing/doing. Are you doing anything besides trying to find slots left in +ev/probably +ev situations (like Regal Riches mega over 100 spins)? Not really trying to hijack this thread so feel free to dm me if you want. I could never find enough plays to be worth the time sink but I always assumed I probably just didn’t know all the +ev spots.
You might try cutting back on carbs.
Yeah, pretty much this but I’ll send you a message with more details tomorrow.
Id like to know more as well
Just got back from my workout, and it was a pretty shitty workout overall, like 2/10. I cut some exercises out of the form template and was dragging ass the whole time, really lagging on the treadmill, which I normally do before weights, because full body dumbbell work wrecks me for the treadmill. Still, I feel good right now, burned 800 cals (probably actually like 500), and I’m glad I did the workout. It sucked, but it was fine, and as long as it’s not an option to go or not progress is made.
I’ve actually seen leanbeefpatty (fitness person on YouTube) have similar shitty workouts where she complains much of the time, can’t hit her reps, but she does it and has built an amazing physique and fitness level. Most fitness content is watching fit people doing great, when the reality of 80% of workouts is people struggling but nonetheless improving. Some 60 year old lady squatting 150 is as impressive as some jacked bro squatting 500.
Fb8 AP slots thread ftw!
Yea that’s where I’m at w/ the foot numbness. It’s actually my 2 big toes but nothing else. At first it was my left toe but I assumed it was an ingrown toenail. But when it happened to my right toe, I was like “Oh shit.” It’s not bad, I’d say its a 1 or 2 on a scale of 1-10 but I do want it to go away. I’ve hiked 16 miles this month and walked 31 miles. I’ve actually been holding back on the hiking b/c I live where it’s above freezing during the day and 20 degrees at night. So the hiking trail near me is constantly either icy or muddy. My goal is to hike 1,000 miles this year and walk 2,000. I’ve also gone to gym 2x a week and plan to up that to 3x after 6 weeks and then 4x in April.
Getting up there in years along with the rest of you. Probably in close to the best shape of my life in terms of both health & fitness (they aren’t the same thing), but I’m working 10x harder to get here than I ever had to when I was younger so much younger than today.
The main adjustment I’ve made on the fitness side is to give myself way more time to recover than I used to in between intense workouts.
And on the diet side, I’ve been cutting out non-essential foods more aggressively than I ever imagined I would.
But the effort is a worthwhile investment, IMO. The one thing I’ve come to realize in all my years on this planet is that health is #1 and there’s no close second in terms of quality of life.
A healthy man has 1,000 desires.
A sick man only one.
Yeah I’ve had to force myself to have a full rest day, which means not even a mile walk, after leg day. Otherwise my lower back just gets steadily worse throughout the week until I can’t take it.
I’ve also had to learn through a lot of trial and error which lifts don’t get my elbow or wrist hurting. Once I found those, I never deviate. Muscle confusion is for the youngs.
Counterpoint: Lowkey released soundtrack to the struggle 3 last year.
I’m 49. I’m not in great shape but I’ve been improving (6’5" 240lbs, just had my annual physical, nothing abnormal in my lab work etc (total cholesterol 160)). I get a moderate amount of exercise most days. I can deep squat with no trouble, touch my toes, etc. The first sit-to-stand video is easy for me.
The second one, what the fuck? how is that even possible???
If you haven’t tried micro-spikes I highly recommend them for icy trails. I haven’t needed them this season, but they make frozen, compacted snow, glazed over trails feel the same as walking on a dry sidewalk.
I’ve haven’t got out this week because it has been under 20 degrees when I wake up or this morning I overslept. Saw some skinny influencer talking about what she is giving up this year and she talked about giving herself permission to not be perfect, to target 75% good workouts instead of 100. It is easy to get discouraged, giving yourself a break when you don’t perform can make it easier to try again instead of just stopping.
A little late to the party, but I voted “Yes, but with some difficulty” on the whole getting up from the floor thing. I’m probably between “easily” and “with difficulty.” It was easier than I thought it would be considering I’m out of shape, but I had a little trouble because I have bad knees.
Yeah, this is an aging thing I’ve very much been experiencing (turning 49 soon). I don’t have a flow problem, I can hold it in just fine, but if I have the slightest sip of water before bed, I have to get up in the middle of the night to pee and it’s like I had been storing it for days. I got up twice last night and both were full pisses. Bizarre.
I don’t have problems during the day. I feel like I’m a normal pisser. Well, I can’t sit through a movie anymore.
Pretty much the same. I choose to live with getting up instead of not drinking anything at night.
I think taller people are at a severe disadvantage in the second one due to center of balance issues
Just the opposite for me, when I go keto or just low-carb, my body retains little to no water so I’m a lock to get up at least once, if not twice or a rare 3x. Usually also wake up with raging dry mouth so I have to swig some water before I lay back down, making it a vicious cycle. Getting my electrolytes in line (keto fucks up your levels a ton) helps some with both of the above symptoms but doesn’t eliminate them.
It’s annoying because outside of this, I love keto, it’s like a magic trick for never really being hungry and pretty effortlessly losing/maintaining weight, plus body inflammation goes down to nothing and all those nagging joint aches and pains pretty much go away.
Keto is extreme. Unsustainable for me. A little over 30% carbs is doable long term and I don’t have to get up as often as I did when I didn’t limit carbs. Typical diet is like 45% I think.
If I had to stay under 20g carbs a day I wouldn’t be able to sustain it, thankfully with my level of activity it seems like I can tolerate closer to 50g. Also I’m fine with a cheat meal every couple weeks, even if it takes me out of ketosis for ~48 hours.
I know some people treat it like a damn religion, eating the most boring shit at restaurants and refusing to even drink alcohol because your body processes that for a few hours before going back to burning fat. Personally I don’t let it get in the way of holidays or vacations or anything, when I’m away I eat what I want, and pretty much Thanksgiving through New Year’s is a free-for-all every year.
