I guess this should all be in “About Moderation”…but, I don’t think “fuck you” is any worse than snide remarks. If anything it’s the other way around.

Obviously just respecting one another is impossible. I think we should either look at more specific rules like:

No threats of violence
No doxxing
No implications of mental illness (?)

or whatever, even if it’s “No fuck you’s”

and maybe a point where a feud is declared and all parties are subject to moderation?

But, things that can be determined more clearly than “personal attack”.

I enjoy your posts and your sense of humor. It’s to my taste and almost always makes me smile.

Your humor is not appropriate in all situations with all people.

Sometimes, your casual expression of humor contributes to the drama and pain that makes this place unbearable for some of our members. You aren’t solely at fault for that. Your actions contribute to what makes this place great, too. Other times, your actions contribute to what makes this place suck.

I don’t think you committed any sort of grave crime or something in this instance. Just asking you to consider the contribution your humor makes in a given situation and whether the humor is fine but perhaps not appropriate in this instance.

If your joke is funny for you but you see it upsets the people you told it to, doesn’t that kind of defeat the point of telling your joke to that group?
