"Get used to me slaying": The Journal of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez—Drink water and don't be racist

The relationship according to them is that having bad character makes you both a criminal and poor. As Johnny is saying, they don’t believe it, but it’s what you say when you don’t want to give anything up.

Would have guessed that the Italians would have had a more elegant sounding word for “fucking bitch” than “fucking bitch”.

A-fucking a-bitcha!

The Italians don’t swear as mildly as that.

In parts of Italy old women swear at people with “fica seca nullla”, meaning you’re nothing but a dry ■■■■■

I cheered at that part. So many euphemistic or cowardly news reports avoided the language. Love that she just came out and said it. Make him wear that shit around his neck.

She is becoming an elite speaker. Another 10 years she’s gonna be unstoppable. (If y’all still have a working democracy of course)

One thing she does so well (among many things) is that she illustrates why something that is bad is bad beyond just itself, if that makes sense. In this case, everyone knows it’s not nice to call a woman a “fucking bitch,” but she explains why that action is not just poor behavior, but is a symptom of a greater, deep-seated problem in society.

She also doesnt hold back. Too many Dems are prone to examining public opinion polls before expressing a view, lest it offend too many swing voters, instead of you know trying to influence public views to improve them.

She crossed the political divide when she said using that language against her gives others permission to use it against Yoho’s own wife, his own daughters. That is a powerful frame sure to provoke the protective instincts of strict fathers and nurturing parents alike. They might think they hate AOC and she deserves to be spoken to like that, but they’ll also need to then confront how that empowers men to abuse the women whose safety for which they feel responsible. Really interested to see the impact this has in the coming week for direct political responses from Congress.
