We might be talking about the gas shortages in other threads, but it seems like, incredibly serious. Its like a short term version of climate change where if we dont do something yesterday we are in for a world of trouble in a couple weeks. And each day that passes gets us closer and closer to a cliff we cant stop from careening over

this summer will be bad. and like 5% of people realize it.
and we won’t feel the food shortages until fall. i’m sure everything will be fine with an election that will determine a certain someone’s fate happening in november…
Define bad. In a certain sense, things are very (very) bad today. But, “you gonna die” bad is obviously much worse.

depends on if you have faith that the american people won’t start hoarding spaghetti o’s when they see the price double or triple…
personally, by october, i’d like to see a new pandemic, gas at $9/gallon, the stock market down 40% and the price of everything at the grocery store tripled.
then i wanna see trump either cancel or blatantly, provably rig the election.
that would be a pretty good time.

i genuinely believe chaos is coming. gas $7-8, all food doubles in price. right in time for midterms. people are gonna be grumpy, trump lights a few matches and gives himself a way to avoid the blue wave. he doesn’t need to know how it all ends, he just needs to be in charge with full king powers during the chaos. he’s obviously good at that.
think about it like this, every time he’s pushed people’s buttons, he’s gotten a response. imagine the response when people have been fucked hard monetarily all summer. and it’s 98 degrees at 6pm. he mocks us, sends in ICE to wherever it’s popping off the most… what does he have to lose? he can’t go into november with $7 gas and $20/lb ground beef.
he ALWAYS causes a new distraction when things are looking bad for him…
gas literally can’t be less than $5 the rest of the year. $5 gas for the next 4-6 weeks just means we’re selling off the strategic reserves. july? august? we’re already cooked for those months and any fixes will start to help in september, which is right when non-existent crops start to hit the markets.
it won’t take much of a push to get people riled, and by that point it’ll be his best play bc just coasting on THAT momentum into november means he’s impeached the day the new congress convenes.
also remember it’s not just impeachment, if democrats take the house, they’ll have subpoena and investigative powers. he can’t let that happen.
hell, he HAS to know it’s better for him to rig the election even if it’s obvious. there’s 3 things that can happen: he gets caught and impeached, which would happen anyway if he lost, he gets caught and somehow shuts it down, he doesn’t get caught. 2/3 outcomes are good for him. and the 1 bad outcome would be the same as losing anyway!
think like a guy with king powers and nothing to lose. if he loses congress he’s cooked. how has he generally reacted in those situations? now crank up the dial with gas prices, food prices, epstein, iran… summer is always high tension anyway, now there’s a do or die election in a couple months that both sides know is do or die.
it’s easy to hand wave all this bc it’s always worked out for him. this time we got him, etc. but this time it isn’t something he can fix. and he’s gonna know the consequences bc dems are gonna have ads saying that they’re gonna string him up all summer and fall.
