Fast food thread

It reminds of that dam chicken sandwich at Popeyes. I was despondent at lines around the block every time I tried to go to my normal Popeyes. It was bad enough before that but I couldn’t even stick around to get my food that wasn’t the sandwich. And it was like that at every Popeyes.

Damn, I won’t get in the drive thru line if there is more than one car waiting there. They take too long. I want my fried food with a side of fried batter, hushpuppies, and french fries now!

Also, I like the off-brand ketchup. Preferrably fried.

Wtf..LJS is like the nut low of fast food, and I thought they had gone bankrupt or something.. Feel like they’ve all closed.

Is this the very first restaurant that has ever opened in Amarillo? I can’t fathom any other reason that would warrant a line for shitty fried frozen fish.

And yet oddly, I still crave them a few times a year.

Yeah I will mess with Ljs once or twice a year.

But would never wait wait for it.

How dare you like something.

I say oddly because I feel sick afterwards and you think I’d learn.

If anything when I get fast food or order something on Uber Eats or whatever I typically just get whatever the best deal on offer is. People who would be confused by an app in 2025 surely are just ordering off the menu right?

The 2 for 7 is great. They should have that all the time.

Happening in September. Apparently the combo meals will discount 15% versus ala carte. Were they not discounting it before?

Combos def cheaper than getting it alone. Don’t know by how much.

Holy shit, end of an era. So Door Dash has dash pass shit where you get a free item if you spend a certain amount, say 20 or 25 dollars.

For as long as they have done this, the price of the item you are getting for free was included in the 20 or 25, so myself living in a very expensive place, I could for instance(don’t care about your subway opinions) get a free footlong if I spend $25. Pricing here, I could make a footlong that cost at least $25, order would be almost free other than tip since its dash pass.

Well, tonight I have discovered they have “fixed the glitch”. tried to get a free 12 dollar beef and cheddar from arbys while ordering a drink and fires, app errors out because I didn’t spend enough without including the free item.

The last 3 years of dash pass with this glitch have been incredible, only really has worked for me cause our items cost so much but great while it lasted!

My condolences.

in my neck of the ocean Dominos had an upsale feature that if you order a large pizza they offer you and 2nd one for 1/2 price. Then you could remove the first pizza from the cart and still order the 1/2 price one.

My kids live on pizza so i must have done that 100 times untill the fixed the bug

Is Israel Dominos better than US Dominos?

Not really. Its more expensive though. My kids like it better than my fancy local napoletan pizzeria

A 14 inch pepperoni pizza cost 25 bucks before delivery cost.

All of my favorite pizza places charge at least that much, but they are much better than Dominos (which I actually think is fine). I haven’t been to a Dominos in forever, but I would assume it is cheaper than that.

Does Dominos have any kosher options? Can they have a separate kosher kitchen for kosher customers or do they have to be 100% kosher to get certified?

some dominos branches are kosher some aren’t.

outside of Tel Aviv (which is exceptionally good culinary destination although stupidly pricey) there’s a popular type of local pizzerias that are much cheaper than dominos but way lower quality. So all things considered, if you live outside of Tel Aviv, dominos is more reliable than the majority of your options.

Dominos and McDonalds are the only American franchises that are successful here.

Domino’s is probably now the best value in chain pizza. You can get a medium 2-topping handmade pan (their best pizza in my opinion) usually for 9.99 I believe now. If you get a regular pizza, they often have carryout deals for 7.99.

All good deals for PIzza Hut are to get either 2 pizzas or a large. There are no medium single pizza deals anymore, which is what I would prefer to get. I really wish they’d bring back the small pizzas they used to have.

While Little Caesars beats Domino’s on price, it does not beat it on taste.

Mr. Jim’s is one of my go-tos now (had them in Texas growing up and marksman may have had it before). In the pandemic, they were the best value in pizza. You could get a small 2-topping thin crust pizza for I want to say 6.49 after taxes. They fixed that glitch in 2023, and made it so you could only get a reasonable deal if you bought two of those and upped the price quite a bit. Now it’s basically 8.00 apiece and about 17 after tax. Each of those pizzas is a full meal, so it’s not a bad value in comparison to most fast food.

If you want to get one of those pizzas, you need to use the 30% off a menu priced pizza coupon, because the 2-topping thin crust small pizza (10”) by itself is 15.98 before tax. You can now get it for about 12.49 after taxes, when just a few years ago it was 6.49 after taxes. Gouging.

I also like Roundtable Pizza, but it is exorbitantly expensive for all pizzas (it is always good), so I don’t get it often. Ironically, their prices haven’t moved since the pandemic as far as I can tell. That’s because their prices have always been outrageous. And their rewards program is s***. You have to spend like $250 there to get a personal 2-topping pizza free there or something. Maybe that’s to get a medium 2-topping. Regardless, it’s ridiculous. Most pizza places give you a free medium pizza after spending maybe 50 or 75 dollars, 100 at the most.
