I didn’t know they had Whataburger outside of TX.
It was pretty good in the '90s. Had it once about 10 yrs ago and it was mid.
I tried Whataburger once last year and it was extremely mid. Not gross or anything, but not particularly good. Completely forgettable. I wouldn’t refuse to eat there again, but I also have no desire to eat there again.

Being in the north east we are deprived. I’ve only had whataburger twice but it was far superior to anything i’m used too. Sonic is the same altho we now have a couple of those within a 20 mile radius so there luster has worn off.
I do not get the love for Sonic.

Whataburger faltered a bit when they sold to private equity but it’s still my favorite fast food. The breakfast taquitos are great and I love me a patty melt. Back in the olden days they used to use blue bell ice cream in their shakes another Texas tradition. Was the perfect pair.
My only time trying whataburger was because they were open all night, so I went through the drive thru at 4am. Burger was cold. Never went back.
Some of my fondest late night drunk memories were at Whataburger.
Those sloppy drunk late nights always ended at burrito places for me…
I knew so many fans growing up in Fort Worth. I always hated when people elected to go there because it was so inconsistent in the 80s. You never knew if you were going to get good crispy fries or massively soggy fries. I’m glad they’ve fixed the issue since I started going back to Texas in 2018. I haven’t had a single soggy fries incident and their fries easily rival McDonald’s as one of the only three places I can eat fries without dipping in barbecue sauce. The other is Wienerschnitzel (sometimes has a soggy fries problem but when crispy, they’re great).
Even though most people assume where Beavis and Butt-head worked was a knockoff of McDonald’s, I kinda though it might have been a knockoff of Whataburger, since Judge lived in the Metroplex as he was conceiving the idea.
The logo for the restaurant that B & BH work at looks much more like Whataburger
It also would have fit because of how nasty their food was sometimes lol
Oh man, some of those episodes were disgusting and hilarious.
Late night drunk, or post poker White Castle. Seems like a dream now.
These days I only miss Popeye’s and Raining Cane’s.

Learning how to cook stir frys has really cut back on my need to ever get fast food or Chinese takeout.

yeah sonic is straight up bad
I used to remember KFC being like the best thing ever as a child but now it’s god awful.
