Is there a solid consensus on #2?

That actually doesn’t sound outrageous for what you get. No one is buying a 1/4 lb lobster roll for less than $20 these days, and an extra $20 for 6 oz of filet mignon is not unreasonable.

However, I don’t understand using filet mignon for a steak sandwich.

And I thought the steak and lobster sandwich looked bad

The Over-Rated.
Most over-rated seafood item and over-rated cut of steak for an over-rated team.

You can’t just say spices without naming the spices

Before I left Vegas last weekend I went out and had some of my local favorites. Silly me though there were no Shake Shacks in WI so I had to have it. Turns out there’s one in Madison lol. I’d have that over a Culver’s in a heartbeat.

Garlic and onion powder, cumin, salt, pepper, paprika, and a touch of Cayenne

Add all of that to a paper bag filled with hot fried chicken and French fries, and you now have “Irish Spice Bag.”

Got an ok fast food beef at Portillos in Orlando recently. Not bad for 1,100 miles away from Chicago.

I’m a heathen and prefer sweet peppers to giardiniere. Dipped of course.

Blasphemous

That’s what I call a New York slice

Boring and overpriced?

IMO it’s too thin. Even a standard NYC pie should have a little bit of risen dough.

Here in DC, so many places make pizzas like this. I wonder if restaurants are over-stretching the dough as a cost-saving measure.

Could be, although I don’t think dough is actually a big cost driver for pizza places.

I always assumed it was a by product of the Jumbo Slice arms race in Adams Morgan. There are/were a number of shops that catered to the late night drunk crowd and competed based on who could provide the largest slice. Several of the old spots in that neighborhood closed, but I think the style kinda spread to other parts of the city, especially the ones frequented by the college kids and the 20 somethings

Italian beef sandwiches are one of the criminally underrated food items on earth imo. The philly cheesesteak has nothing on it. How that became more of a thing nationally I will never know.
