The only Filipino I’ve talked to about it also liked Duterte. He was a very nice guy, but I have no idea what his politics are aside from Duterte.
I’ve seen Clerks thirty-six times.
I mostly agree. He’s made some interesting things since then, but where he has really shined is in his Q&As, eg An Evening with Kevin Smith.
Clerks II is an exception. Hilarious.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how so many people like trump, including some friends I consider good people.
I think the answer is simply lack of information.
Most people dont follow politics like we do. We are in the top 0.00001% of the population in terms of knowledge of the minutia of the political world.
I can imagine how trump might seem edgy and even fun if you honestly didn’t know anything about the details. This could all just seem like the same partisan fighting going on for decades if you never bothered to read behind the headlines.
People don’t use ad blockers? Truly deplorable.
Trivia: Yesterday I learned there was no one named Roe involved in Roe vs. Wade.
It‘s Jane Roe vs. Henry Wade. Jane Roe was a pseudonym given to protect the women‘s privacy. cf. „Jane Doe“
It’s comforting to know that no matter what creepy tracking FB does on me, or what other ads I deliberately click on, it always settles back on disrupting the workout shorts market.
Nah, they just show you ads for stuff you’ve already bought, ime, or stuff you’ve recently googled etc. Pretty unimpressive as predictions go.
Maybe. I was walking through Target and saw a display for Harry’s razors (and ok, I’d googled them at some point) and stopped to take a quick look. While walking away, I take a look at my phone and bam, there’s an ad. I turned location off for a while after that.
My uncle dates a Filipina immigrant who loves Trump. Not sure what she thinks of Duterte
I’ll give you three guesses and the first two don’t count
Just watched The Laundromat on Netflix. Amazing movie covering the Panama Papers and corruption, money laundering and our compromised political and economic system. Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman, Antonio Banderas and directed by Steven Soderbergh. Highly recommend.
Nancy Pelosi’s brother, former mayor of Baltimore has died.
I am so tired of these stories where schools won’t take money from third parties.
They punish children to teach the parents a lesson? Why are they allowed anywhere near children?

The punishment is also crazy. No extracurricular activities except for sports.
Maybe they can’t because of liability considerations, but these twitter people should name the actual people making these decisions. Not “Cherry Hill School Board” but “John Doe of the Cherry Hill School Board”
They’re probably in the article, but put their names front and center.
Watching NFL on CBS and jesus christ these TV shows they’re advertising. Apparently on Wednesday night you’ll be treated to an hour of Seal Team then another hour of SWAT. Probably rather be forced to watch those state-glorifying shows instead of God Friended Me or Young Sheldon. Sad!
Olds love procedurals. They’re almost as comforting as Rush.

welcome to the resistance PIERRE DELECTO (possibly (probably) mitt romney’s secret twitter)
The biggest audience erosion in network TV in the last 5 years has been CBS (moderate 18-49 numbers, huge ‘olds’ numbers). They don’t know what to do anymore, and they’re renewing ridiculously low rated shows that would have been canceled during the season without a second thought three years ago because they never prepped for how to appeal to young uns. Their goal seems to be to gather up the next generation of olds via appealing to people in their early 50s.
You do not want Ashley Feinberg stalking you online. Just ask Comey.
Thanks for mentioning this. I’ve been looking forward to it for so long (a few days, but in Trump time that’s years) that I forgot about it.
I don’t wanna look it up. She was the discoverer?
