Fall LC thread

I hike a bunch and I always got blisters until I got Merino wool sock liners. I should get Merino underwear as well. Stuff is great.

Personally trolling and taking money from Trump supporters/right wing nutters is one of my favorite things about poker.

If he tries to back out again you gotta up the stakes on the trolling. You’ll accept $150-200 if he personally donates it to Warrens campaign plus wearing the T-shirt.

I have a question for anyone with app programming knowledge/experience. About how long would it take to develop an app that could reliably facilitate payments to specific online vendors? My friends and I were tossing around the idea of starting a non-profit or a PAC dedicated to paying the fines of Ex-felons in Florida so they could vote in the next election. We thought it would make the idea a lot more feasible if you could design an app that volunteers could use to assist people in the process but we know nothing about that.

That’s a big ask. I live in a light fleece jacket 1/2 the year.

Major attack taking place in Germany, multiple suspects attacked a synagogue with at least 2 dead… And their still searching for the suspects :weary: more details to come.

Which online vendors? The problem here is getting the money to the proper authorities in Florida. IE - you can’t just give it directly to the felons. You’d ideally need them to have some kind of API you could hook into - and I’d be shocked if they have such a thing.

Or are you just looking to collect money and then have actual people (volunteers who work for the PAC?) pay the fines with it on the ground?

The initial thought was to collect money and then have volunteers pay for folks looking to get their voting rights restored. I think the payment process varies by county, but some, I believe, have online payment processors. We literally just hatched this idea, so we have reached out to people who are more familiar with the criminal system. Luckily this group of friends has a good network of people around the state, the big concern is that we will not have enough time to get it off the ground before the election. So that why I’m trying to get an idea of how long somethjng like this would take to build.

6 months minimum I’d say. And yes, probably very hard to interface directly with the payment processors. I can’t imagine govt agencies make it easy (especially when they’re motivated not to).

There’s a big difference between taking payments online from humans using a browser vs. exposing an API that allows 3rd party apps to make payments. The latter is several orders of magnitude more complicated and risky. But maybe they’re doing it.

When you have more specific knowledge about the payment systems let me know.

I was thinking of lowering the buyout amount and increasing the punishment. Like $50 and he’s gotta wear a gay pride shirt for a day and a Warren shirt for a day. Or $25 but he’s gotta wear a gay pride shirt, a Warren shirt and a Bernie “For All” t-shirt.

Like I think if I offered him out for just any one of those t-shirts he’d tell me to fuck off lol…

I would assume that any system that they have in place that makes it easier for you to carry out this project will disappear the second they realize that someone is helping ex-felons restore their voting rights. So I would not count on ANY interfacing with them in ANY way long-term.

What I don‘t understand is that synagogues usually get 24/7 police protection but the attacker(s) here tried but failed to enter through the front door for 5-10 minutes according to a witness. He/they fired shots and threw molotov cocktails. What took the police so long to get there.

So Matt Lauer is apparently a rapist. Ronan Farrow is continuing to dismantle NBC News and their bullshit.

Oh no way, I totally would have thought his creepy behavior ended at locking people in his office with a button on his desk.

I think the best way is to just have volunteers on the ground who show up with the felons to pay their fines for them. At least until Florida turns that into a felony in itself.

Will he pay up the 1k when he loses?

Probably so based on what I read but they apparently had consensual sex multiple times after the incident she described so I doubt a prosecutor would press charges.

I was pretty disgusted to read it. Even more so to watch leftist friends of mine on FB share it.

There are two very different kinds of purity testing on the left. One is where Ted Lieu may spit pure fire against Trump and be a perfectly loyal Democrat, but co-sponsoring a bill to put people in prison for supporting BDS is an impurity. The other is something like Michael Moore is a POS because he went on the Joe Rogan podcast. I have pretty strong feelings about which of these is actually bad.

I’d say there’s about a 90% chance he pays.
