I think the thing that bothers me the most about shit like this is that it shows just how out of touch with the rest of the world these people are. Like, this guy thinks that gun confiscation is right around the corner that they’ve gotta take action to stave off the annihilation of their guns. Meanwhile, we are having children murdered in schools and the popular sentiment is to put more guns in school. We couldn’t be further from the world this guy thinks he’s living in, yet here he is holding public office. There are threats that are so much more serious that we need to be addressing, like climate change.
I know it’s a super rural county, but he is not an outlier by any means. This segment of our society is sizable and they hold so much power, it’s tragic.
There is no violin small enough for idiots who give their money to the Catholic or Mormon Church.
