I saw something I’ve not seen before the other night. I formed Brazil pretty fast by conquering three nearby tribes as opposed to settling 5 provinces, so three of the five provinces were animist. So when Brazil formed, the state religion was fucking animist. I had to enforce religion on them to make them worship the right god. They shot up to 100% liberty desire because of that it in was a huge pita, mainly it sucked because I got no tariff moneyz for a long time while I was lowering it (I eventually got it to a good spot but sacrificed a ton of prestige to do so). So anyway watch out for that
I wonder which comes out on top if half the globe is Mughals and the other half is Prussia

Yeah that thing’s a lot stronger than it’s map size suggests. Not enough to stand up to the mughals but still.
Prussia formed really early in my current game. Much earlier than I was able to form them when I played. Also it formed from Teutonic Order which is a first in my experience. Every other time it’s been Brandenburg.

Portugal II is in the books. I wasn’t able to get all of the trade nodes but I got most of them. Pretty fun run actually. I developed the shit out of what I got but idk if it’s a true “tall” run. lol Russia

It funny, every game I played pre-Dharma had Timmies folding like a cheap suit within ~150 years or so. Since then, they always seem to make their way into the top 10. But I’ve yet to play a game where they or any other AI forms Mughals.
Started a Holland run, plan is to form Netherlands and play tall in Europe + become trade god around the world.
I RM + allied France early and got them and England and Denmark to support my independence. Before I could start the independence war, Burgundy released me, which is good but also kinda bad because I wasn’t able to get Antwerp or Breda via the war. However, I’ve also RM + allied Burgundy and the inheritance hasn’t fired yet so I’m still live for that. Sucks bad taht Utrecht is allied to Denmark and Friesland is allied to two other HRE minors + Brittany, it will take some maneuvering to get their provinces or at least the ones required to form Netherlands
I no CB’d Desmond in order to help with colonial range later. I also took Connaught a few years after since they had no allies, so I have a nice little toehold in Ireland if I want to go in that direction, but ofc that will mean taking on England whom I should probably be allied to. We shall see how it unfolds
Just letting you know that this is how every tall playthrough I try to do goes… I see an opportunity and suddenly I’m trying to eat a great power.

It wound up being a pretty successful fun but I did not eat much of Europe, in fact I didn’t even finish all my mission trees though I think I got closer than I ever have before. Spain held onto two cores for most of the game that I needed to complete them. Austria got the other from Cleves and held it (Austria wound up blobbing almost all of Central Europe). I couldn’t take on either without fighting the other and they were two of the world’s dominant powers and would have crushed me together. I’ll poast map porn later.
I’d like for just once for Spain not to rule the freaking world in a game. Even when they’re not atop the scoreboard they’re still “winning.” I guess the only way to prevent that is to take them on early 
Hype? New DLC coming on Tuesday. As usual I don’t know if it is going to break my current save but I assume it will so need to prevent the auto update

Italy is worth forming.
So this is just annoying as hell. I’m allied with Ottomans and we’re ldo dominating, I’m making my way east mostly on my own while Ottomans are making their way into Europe with my occasional help. I really do not want to break this alliance and make enemies out of them yet. However, they hold the coastal province of Bharuch as you can see here. They secured it as a trade province off Sindh before I conquered them. I need that province because without it I cannot unlock the entire bottom right side of my mission tree! I have no idea WTF to do!

It has always bothered me that you can sell provinces and buy trade company provinces but you can’t buy regular provinces or even just swap them. Like I’d be willing to give them a non-Hajj port province and maintain the province and avoid war if that’s what it took.
They are guaranteeing Yemen, so yeah I think I will wait for them to fight a Euro again and attack Yemen and do it that way. I can probably do a separate peace with them in exchange for that province and maybe even re-establish the alliance afterward if I pay it just right. Blowing off basically half my mission tree is not an option.
That’s why multiplayer is the GOAT
