It’s all about how much cash we’ll tolerate to allow them to get even more cash from advertisers. Maybe I’ll just go to only streaming providers who don’t throw ads at you.

But then that same tech made people fuck around with large screens and get distracted by their phones, so after decades of improvements in road safety, it’s now going backwards in many places.

Exact same thing happened to me when I “bought” Goodfellas on Amazon. Turns out it was some slightly-different release than the ones they offer now. For a while it showed up as purchased but unavailable. But now it’s like it never happened at all. Poof, gone.
Same can happen with digital books and audiobooks. Download and archive if you can, imo. Amazon is making this harder, ofc.

when it comes to soda i pretty much exclusively drink diet pepsi, with the occasional diet dr. pepper. i dislike coke.
i also enjoy monster ultra zero sugar because i’m here for a good time not a long time. which the tried to shrinkflation from the 16oz cans to the 12oz cans but it didn’t take.
I was dog sitting for a friend last week. Rented a movie on Amazon Prime on my phone, and we wanted to cast it to the TV. Amazon wouldn’t let us cast it due to some privacy nonsense, and I wasn’t trying to watch it on my phone. Obviously by the time we got home two days later our 48 hour viewing window for the rental has elapsed.
I just started getting this on desktop today. It had been a problem on my phone anytime I opened a reddit link in my mobile browser, so I would switch to desktop mode. Now this. I just want to read a post from 4 years ago that popped up as a search result, I don’t want to make a fucking account to join the “most real place on the internet” full of antisocial keyboard warriors and barely-disguised AI bots.
Just a heads up that might be going away soon.
