In all honesty I knew nothing about him, from what I’ve heard he’s a decent championship player but not a PL defender, also if reports are true that he likes the drink that’s a minus in my book, so I’m not to thrilled as some tbh.
I would like to see the PSG left back here + another central defender.
if he’s that good I kind of feel bad for him. France will be the euro favorites next year and the WC favorites in 2022. Probably a dog to make either squad. France could be a dynasty if they win both.
Come on Marty, they were in league one five years ago. That they had the best GD in the championship last year when they have to consistently sell their best players is super impressive.
I just mean that just because Brentford do well in the market doesn’t automatically mean Celtic or Aston Villa or Marseille automatically will. Nothing more, nothing less.
There’s probably some merit in what you’re saying. Clubs in the Championship are more exposed (to use a horse racing term) and buying clubs feel more confident in putting a price on players in it, whereas the quality of football in the SPL is something of an unknown and the risk of buying a flat track bully is much greater.
God only knows we had a few in the past like Marinello and Nicholas.
It’s not part of some weird anti-Scottish conspiracy designed to rob their clubs of their best assets, though.
Because the risk of him not transitioning to PL football has been mitigated ie he’s now a proven performer at the new level. That risk was priced into what AFC paid CFC for him. Plus he had injury problems.
Ok, found it. Apparently we have to time travel backwards 12 months to conveniently skip over the more recent debacles. There’s nothing quite like sifting through data to find something that supports a bad theory.
