Elon Musk: The Reichest Man Alive

this is a good point, there are two different styles of angled parking, if it’s clearly two-way then either is fine.

On the contrary, they announced horrible earnings numbers but the stock soared because efficient markets or something.

I do this on the whole but I’ll also go a to spots a little out of the way if it means I can drive thru a two spot place to be facing out

At the time I back in there is no emergency taking place. Who knows if that will be the case when I’m leaving?

Yes. It’s called a zipper merge and it’s the correct thing to do.

Yeah any facility with an emergency evacuation plan will typically require reverse in parking.

Some garages in Deep South USA#1 require head-in parking so they can scan license plates automatically. But they didn’t let the architects know, who design the garages with typical very-tight urban parking dimensions. So a big portion of people back in out of necessity—good luck getting your Challenger Hellcat into an 8.5’ wide space in a narrow garage full of trucks.

Thhe Deep South part is relevant is you don’t need front plates down here. Because FREEDUMBS.

You’re grocery shopping, not robbing a bank.

You never know when my time to single handedly save the world will come, but when it does you’ll be glad I had that extra five seconds.

That’s why I was thinking of getting a ham radio, then I remembered I’m introverted and don’t like talking to people and got a software defined radio to use as a scanner instead…

you don’t actually have to talk to anyone, you can just do cool shit like build a radio and make a big antenna out of a shopping cart and bounce signals off the moon.

Backing in mandatory/standard at every mine site in Australia to the best of my knowledge. Lol at not being able/willing to do it.

The truly correct play is to park where there are two bays “stacked” on top of each other, pull through the first and park in the second facing out, and thus being able to drive forward in and forward out.

You may have been somewhat facetious, but this is actually the only argument for backing in that might actually have some legitimacy.

Gutting US Aid has real human consequences

Who would have thunk it?

Somebody caused that traffic jam you’re trying to skip by doing exactly that. What you write seems like it’s by someone who has never driven in a city like L.A. where it is nothing but traffic jams in merging areas and beyond like 18 hours or more per day.

At first, I thought this was going to be an example of where backing in could have saved lives.

still better than Peter Thiel’s Palantir (> 530)

The fuck are you talking about? The traffic jam is caused by too many cars, not by people waiting until end of their merge lane to merge. In what possible way do you think that makes the traffic worse?

Lol

People who don’t know what they’re doing cause traffic jams. At some point a lane is clear. How did the problem start? Merging incorrectly.

People who merge early are heathens.

Not as much as those who wait til the last second. Those are the worst.
