Why?
That’s my question. You back into a parking place because it’s easier to get out afterwards? But it’'s harder to get in, so it’s a wash, isn’t it?
If it’s a wash, then why is it fucked up? Seems like it’s a wash.
Maybe that’s a bit extreme of me to say that, but it’s just annoying to have to wait while someone overshoots a parking space so they can back into it, plus backing out seems a lot easier because you don’t have to back up to a certain point like you do when backing in.
What I imagine goes through the mind of a person as they’re backing into a parking space while the rest of us park like normal people.
If there’s no one around when you’re parking then you can back in and maybe there will be more traffic when you’re trying to get out and you’ll be able to drive straight out. If there are a lot of cars around when you’re parking then maybe go head first see what happens when you back out. Or maybe on one side of the parking space it’s open without a parking space or car, and you want to park so that your door opens that direction. Or maybe you’re trying to keep the sun from shining in your windshield.
Ok, but if it’s crowded when you arrive and empty when you leave, you can still forward out by driving through the now-empty space in front of you.
Without getting more into details, I just mean “it depends”. I mostly go in head first, but not always.
That’s fucked up.
That has to be an american thing right? Ive seen this complaint on twitter before
Anyone who backs into parking spots more than like 1% of the time deserves to go to CECOT
It’s an American thing to do it? Or an American thing to complain about it? I’m not really worldly enough to know anyway.
My only working theory here is that you guys dont know how to parallel park so youre scared of reverse
@Chippa58 being so anti backing up. Id say its easily 50/50 here and in general people who back up are far less likely to park like assholes
Americans are terrible drivers who are afraid to back into spots. Backing in is far superior and I’m pretty sure is the standard in most of the world - it’s so much more efficient to just be able to pull out of a spot rather than having to back out and completely hold up traffic.
You stupid motherfuckers in the rest of the world are out there driving past spots to back in? USA actually is #1
LOL okay. Somebody change the subject. This is getting ugly.
Lol i just counted my building parking lot. 18 out of 20 backed in.
Well if your battery is in the front and you need a jump you don’t need room on either side. (Just a small benefit for backing in your combustion engine)
As a former combustion engine driver, not having a jump box is a huge life leak.
