On my phone atm, maybe someone could do a higher effort post with screenshots.

I think my favorite thing about that is it appears it was posted on Facebook.
I think the model is that people who aren’t strong enough to survive in that situation should leave for greener pastures and everyone willing to fight should stay. It’s okay for people to admit that they’re not good at conflict and to find a safer space to hang out.
Damn
I’ll just never understand caring about politics yet not making persuading others one of the highest priority goals. Especially if you support a naturally collectivist ideology.
Lol. Get a grip
You’re not going to persuade nazis on twitter.
Get out and talk to people. I promise you will make more of an impact
Love how he convinced himself Musk isn’t a Nazi. Not all the Nazis were about race purification! For most of the top level guys it was about power. Our school system failed us if even smart people don’t get that.
How out of touch could you possibly be to think this?
Really, none of you should still be on Twitter.
So does this mean my actual physics degree will put me in high demand in the tech world now and I’ll be slurped over as if I was ex-FAANG?
Lol no of course not.
everyone knows the best way to beat the nazis is to cede control of all major platforms to them, its just common sense
They already control them. Your presence isn’t maintaining any authority.
Going out and talking to real people will have less of an impact than talking to people on twitter?
You’re probably talking past each other with some semantics stuff, but that seems straightforwardly very true to me.
then, your absence isn’t doing anything either except absolving your own guilt.

This is true, but also not. Push back everywhere, because you never know who’s listening/reading.
The purpose of fighting trolls (Nazis on Twitter, Fox News hosts, etc) isn’t necessarily to defeat the troll. It’s to give a new perspective to the 10x who listen but never comment, or who are forced to watch by their family or their doctor’s office or whatever.
But also, yes, go out and talk to real people too.
Outside of being some Obama-level public speaker, what version of “going out and talking to people” will have more influence than a post that reaches thousands of your followers and potentially hundreds of thousands of people overall?
Which fresh politician/ideology/campaign in the last 10 years has had success without a strong social media presence?
Well I thought we were talking about us, you and me thickcut type of people. Certainly not fresh politicians/campaigns or ideologies (?).
But if you have a platform of thousands of twitter followers I could see that being a way of getting your opinions out there, sure.
You’re right, arguing with people on Twitter makes more of an impact than organizing and getting involved in your local community.
