Little ditty about Adrian Dittmann
Just a simple kid growin’ up in Deutschland
Elon gonna send a rocket to a star
Adrian’s debutante backseat of Elon’s car
I have been lamenting this a lot lately. I use gps constantly now and I miss figuring out my way with maps and learning how to get there. I have no confidence in my ability to navigate without gps now.
I use maps if I’m traveling out west where GPS is spotty at best in rural areas. I’ve never had a problem with using them. I-40 in AZ was closed last year and we knew Navajo Nation wasn’t allowing detours. I looked up an alternate route and escaped all the traffic everyone else was getting themselves into.
I can’t be arsed up to sift through the bullshit. Can someone just bottom line this for me? Chance that Dittmann is Musk is what? Are we still at >99%?
Looks like probably not Musk, just a super fan who trolls by cosplaying as Musk on occasion to create confusion.
So what you’re saying is that someone at NYT is furiously typing up the “Where does Musk go to get his apology article for the Sunday issue”.
Is GPS making us stupider? Yes! No. Maybe. Probably not. But, yes!
Probably <5%
Why cause some of Musk’s employees were told to lie about what the developer screen looks like on Twitter? Seems like well above 50% to me
No, the linked article shows that they were able to track down a real life Adrian Dittman whose background matches a lot of what the twitter account has shared.
The Knowledge Fight guys also looked into it after Dittman was on Alex Jones multiple times. Their original thought was that it was musk but after reasearch they are quite confident it isnt
I had to explain that to a liberal girl I just started seeing. Luckily she understood. I’d consider getting a bumper sticker but that probably would make me a target for maga assholes.
As for direcrional awareness and map reading skills, it interesting how much of a difference there is from person to person. Like Canadamatt, if I drive somewhere once I can get there again indefinitely. It’s all visually mapped in my mind. I have a friend on the other hand who can pull into a parking lot and then 5 minutes later not know which way to turn when pulling out of the same lot to continue on the previous path. Naturally that’s who I’ve taken most of my road trips with. The biggest being a 13 day trip a week after graduating high school that went from NJ>PA>OH>KY>IN>KY>OH>PA using only paper maps and mapquest print outs. I could probably retrace most of the route today, 18 years later. It’s a skill that definitely comes in handy.
I have a few friends with that bumper sticker.
Some of us knew from the start and he’s not crazy he’s just a prick.
This is silly self congratulations though. Nobody can argue he is the same now as he was 5 years ago. He is obviously much worse.
I bet you can’t find any discussion of not buying a Tesla due to his politics before a few years ago.
tbf, some of us follow politics too closely for our own good.
I’m an incredible map reader. But I always get right/left, east/west, and north/south mixed up. In my mind certain places or just “West” or “East” and to get there I always want to go west on the highway, even if I’m already to the west of them.
I also can never remember how I got into a place in order to retrace my steps to get back out. It’s like Memento.
NYT says cybertruck guy’s brain was likely mush due to his army duty. Doesn’t know if autopsy will check for CTE.
