Evangelicals, the American right wing, and even Israeli right-wingers are completely fine with anti-Semitism, as long as people like Elon pay lip service to supporting the “state of Israel.” This is more evidence of that.

It’s results-oriented thinking that doesn’t apply to just hate. Lots of people will jump through hoops to justify trying to maximize their preferred outcomes.
I mean it took 650,000+ people dying to get rid of it in the US and even then they created a neat loophole where you could keep people enslaved as long as they were convicted of a crime so the idea of owning slaves has always been pretty popular.
I feel like the /r/choosingbeggars stuff, while still a demonstration of shitty human nature, isn’t exactly an out-and-out desire to keep slaves or anything.
