We’re fine unless someone decides to start a tragic death of the republican party thread…
If the republicans can’t decisively win elections 2 years after a first time democrat president is elected, they are effectively dead.
Damn you Riverman Jr.
now that … is some hopium
didnt they basically just go all in on Q-style insurrection candidates? cant imagine why voters would reject that, i am a bit shocked though at these results given the degree of voting rights degradation that has been happening
Been lurking this board from Europe for over 6 years, and developed an unhealthy interest in American politics…For the 2018 midterms, I woke up in the middle of the night and checked it on my phone to see how the elections were going. This turned out to be at the exact same moment when there was something wrong with the NYT needle that made it seem like a GOP sweep, and this board was filled of “it’s all over” posts. I didn’t manage to go back to sleep after that…(and was confused/relieved when looking at the news titles in the morning…gf was not so understanding when I had to explain why I was too tired to deal with the kids)
Anyway this is much better
Until Ralston says he’s seen enough, I’ll sleep wearily.
Dont get me wrong, I’m not saying democrats are winning form here on out, It just won’t be the republicans as we know them know who will be defeating them. My daddys republicans are dead after today.
trying too hard to make insurrection happen

Other outlets have those numbers representing more like 83% of the vote, and the CO site has turnout there at like 48%, which implies to me 80% is more likely accurate than 99%.

Washington state elections
If you don’t have a browser extension to bypass a paywall, I’ll summarize.
Republicans spent 25 million thinking they could win WA senate race. They got boat raced state wide and Democrats may gain a house seat in WA along with multiple seats in state house/senate races.
