I can see tweets from people who blocked me now. It’s great, thanks Elon!
lol a coup
If you kill the CEO, you become the CEO
Staging a coupe. Actually a sedan? Whatever.
Elon’s real mistake here was buying Twitter instead of convincing them to pay him for all of his brilliant ideas as a consultant.
If the code is so brittle, and the ramifications were so massive, surely the problem would have been identified by even the most superficial testing that was done before rolling it out to production?
The only explanation is that this change was ordered into production with little or no testing, and that order had to have come from somewhere near the top.
In the past there were probably many people who could have looked at this proposed change and immediately said “lol this will never work because of x, y, and z” and all those people are probably just gone now.
Or they did look at the proposal, said it wouldn’t work because of x, y, and z, and thus are now gone.
i think a better explanation is that elon lies.
It’s this for sure.
Picture of the employee plotting to kill Musk and take over Twitter:
Keep your friends close and your assassination coordinates closer. Qapla’
Before tweet: superposition of fired/not-fired.
After tweet: fired.
Then there was the technical question: PayPal used Linux, while X.com was on Microsoft. To merge the services, Musk proposed a “V2” plan where PayPal would be completely rewritten and all development would be paused in the process. For months, the teams worked on the rewrite, but it kept missing deadlines while large sums of money were being lost to fraud. Finally, in the face of these issues, employees at the company organized to oust Musk and bring Thiel back as CEO.
