I do my company’s IT and he sounds like me communicating with my employees when I changef/fix something. It’s a really inefficient use of my time (the IT), but I do it anyway for a few bad reasons. Why is Elon Musk doing it?

i think russian trolls are actually generating a lot of twitter traffic and ad impressions, and elon strikes me as a guy glued to his live corporate dashboard and his own engagement stats.
also, elon isn’t a guy that has just one epstein tape somewhere. there’s likely multiple people who have such compromat from over the years, not necessarily just the fsb. of course he’s probably nda’ed or paid most of them off, since that seems to be standard.
I think it’s more likely that Elon is just the kind of person that things being oppositional means being a “free thinker”. So Russian propaganda just lands right on target with him because he wants to believe that the “main stream” thinking is for stupid people, not smart people like him.

Maybe. It’s impossible to know. Lots of people start of shit posting to “own the libs” and then eventually their whole existence is consumed with anti-Dem, anti-“work mob” thoughts. And there’s plenty of anecdotal evidence that he believes his superficial Freeze Peach, blah blah blah is actually an Important Insight from a Smart People. On the balance of probabilities I would guess that he is, like millions of others, highly suggestable on right wing argle bargle. He wouldn’t be alone among tech bros either.
